Rick Pitino out at Louisville

Featured Replies

He's defended Pitino the entire way, basically saying UofL was completely in the wrong for getting rid of him and there's no way that Pitino knew of anything that was going on.

Gotcha. Thanks!

Just check his Twitter!

That would first assume that I'm on Twitter. I'm old school...I get my news the old fashioned way...on BGP! :lol2:

When (not if) his next coaching gig happens the most shocked people will from KY. It’s honestly kind of baffling.

I think you are way off base with this comment. I know what you are getting at, but even by Rick's own admission he doesn't know if he will coach again.

Now maybe he could go to some low tier type school, but I think we are talking big boy coaching gig that he will not be getting anytime soon.

In the Bilas interview he continuously went to the "only person I have to answer to is God" defense. He looked defeated, tired, and emotional. Sad on many levels.

He's 65 years old. Do you really think a school will hire a guy that has overseen numerous scandals at that age knowing he's only going to be there a couple years at most? Pipe dream.
Not to mention we don't even know what the NCAA will do to him. What if he gets like a 5 or 8 year show cause? Possibly 10 year like Tyndall

Do you have a link for this....Thanks

Pitino gets any job he wants and will definitely coach again.....best coach in nation

Is this sarcasm?

Definitely not

To think he is the best coach is one thing, it's an opinion and one that many probably agree with. He is definitely one of the best.

But to say he can have any job he wants is lunacy and just isn't true. What if he wants the UK job? Or the Duke? Or UNC? Or Kansas? Is he getting any of those? Nope. Even if those jobs were open and he wanted one of them they would not hire him. He may coach again but it will be at an extremely low power 5 or average mid major at best.

It is an opinion, but I don't see how anyone can be of that opinion unless you just ignore what Coach K has accomplished over the same period of time.

Pitino said today that he would never step foot in Kentucky again...I guess they can toss this in the trash then.

He doesn’t come across as old, he’s dynamic for his age. What he brings will outweigh the baggage. Someone will pick him up.

I don't see either of those being true in my mind, but of course that's just my opinion against your opinion. There are times when he has looked extremely sick, other times he looks tired and worn down. Then there are the good days where he's fired up and coaching at his best. As far as a team picking him up, I'm sure someone would, even with a show cause of 10 or so years. However it would be a smaller school that he would even take a job from. He's headed for retirement unless he decides to take on an job with one of the networks, which IMO, he would be great at. If I were him, I'd just head down to Miami and enjoy my retirement.
