Can someone explain to me the targeting call on the Mizzo defender? The offensive ball carrier dropped his head a good foot plus right before contact, creating the helmet to helmet contact, and yet the Defender gets called for targeting?

It may have not been pretty. But a win is a win and this team is 5-1 regardless of "how down" this side of the conference is.

Their a few more wins away from a bowl game with some teeth vs the Bobs Tire Barn type bowl for those that just win 6. Keep up the winning ways Cats. Suppose it wouldn't be much fun if you rolled some folks up and won BIG...:lol2:

I agree sometimes it doesn’t seem like the defender can avoid a ducking offensive runner but they consistently call that targeting. The onus is squarely on the defender to not hit above the shoulders regardless of what the offensive player does

On this play the defwnder would not have hit the runner above the shoulders, had the runner not ducked down with his head.

Look up the Denzel Ward hit in the Ohio State game if you really want to be offended by a targeting call. Worst one I've ever seen.

Had the defender simply kept his head up, he would’ve been fine. However, he lowered his head and led with the crown of his helmet. There have been a lot of bad targeting calls over the past couple years, but I couldn’t really argue with that one.

My friend went to the game and said he was shocked at how many people sat for National Anthem.

UK is in the right place at the right time and the fans reap the benefit of it. They will have a historic record this year which is really cool.

I saw none sitting anywhere I could see. Wonder what section your friend was in, sitting with the "blue-bloods" or in the cheap seats?

Endzone by the player parents.

Who cares if they barely win, or beat a mediocre or poor team. They used to lose these games.

No doubt. I'll take it. Just saying, let's not get carried away. This is a mediocre football team that is likely to get exposed as such in the second half of the season.

I did not see anyone sitting.

UK could win 4-5 more games or they could win none. I'm just glad we have MacGinnis as our FG kicker and our opponents haven't had someone close to his equal.

Or the bowl game like last year. Still, the fans are living it up and they should.

I dont think they're mediocre. They are not a power house by any means but they are better than what we're used to seeing at Kentucky.
