Favorite Golf Course in Kentucky

Featured Replies

The other post go me thinking about courses in Kentucky. I've had the chance to play a lot of them. What is you favorite course in the state? Feel free to give your top 3 or top 5 if you have one.

Well, I've mostly played in Northern Kentucky and I don't play a lot...

But of the ones I've played... I liked Lassing Pointe , the Willows in Kenton County and Boone County's course... I think it's literally called Boone County Course (a more dedicated golfer will know though)

I don't get around much, but my personal favorite is StoneCrest.

I like Lassing a lot. I like the Willow but Fox Run at Kenton is better IMO (or was...haven't been there since they killed all the greens). Boone Links is what your thinking of, and it is a really nice course.

I'm not familiar with that one. Where is that?

Prestonsburg.

I really do not have a favorite and have not played Valhalla, Traditions or Persimmon Ridge.

I like Dale Hollow, Peninsula, and Triple Crown of those I have played.

Of the state park courses I like Dale Hollow, Hidden Cove and Wasiota Winds, and I give Dale Hollow the winner of those three.

University Club (Big Blue) in Lexington is very good.

Hurstbourne CC

Lassing Pointe

Lexington CC

Valhalla

Paducah CC

In that order.

Yes, Boone Links... thank you... couldn't think of the real name.

Have you played Olde Stone in Bowling Green? One of our club members (the one who was in college with you) has played both Valhalla and Olde Stone and he said Olde Stone was the better and more challenging of the two courses.

I have driven up to Stone Crest. I've only played one course in my life. That was at Stumbo Park in Allen, Ky. I played 2 and a half holes and said to heck with this.
