I don't think he's on the ballot any longer, any hope for Pete comes from the Veterans, good luck there.

I disagree 100%. His mistake bans him from baseball for life and I'm fine with that. He shouldn't be allowed to manage or coach or play or work in the office....... But to say he shouldn't be able to make money off of who is is and what he's done in the past is too much. I don't look down at him for selling his stuff because that's what he had to do. He's been stripped of his pride, dignity, and lost more money than we will ever make. He's made mistakes, but his mistake shouldn't leave him forgotton in the past. There is already a black mark that will last forever. Pete should be in the HOF and he should be able to profit (commercials, spokesman) from any recognition that he gets or has.

Sure Pete has made mistakes and he's sorry for those mistakes. And while he was apologizing to the fans he was signing books, baseballs, cards, whatever, and charging $100, $500, and $1000 a pop. That's remorse. :thumb:

I didn't understand his post either. Pat Dad, did you agree with me or disagree? Pete was banned from his chosen profession and lost all his money gambling. I don't feel sorry for him for that because he made the bad choices. However, everyone needs money to live and Pete needed money to retire. Should he have worked at a 7/11 and passed out free autographs?

Pete Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame bc of what he accomplished on the field and his all out style of play. More base hits than anyone to ever play the game can not be denied.

Because of the malicious way he weant about cheating baseball, the Reds, and their fans. Then lying under oath about it. He was an awesome player, one of the very, very best ever....Let him go to the hall when he can not benefit from it. I am fine with him selling autographs etcetera, just not with the words Hall of Famer after it.
