Cincinnati's Hometown Hero...

Featured Replies

I think Pete will make it, but he will not be alive to see it. That's a shame!

I Agree:thumb:

Are you suggesting the man should not be allowed to make a living?

Not at all. Making a living off of fans by selling apologies on baseballs are a slap in the face to the fans and the game.

He has a lifetime ban; he will be in the HOF when his lifetime is over. This may sound cruel, but I think that's the way it will play out.

In the meantime, I think that at the least, his bat belongs. More appropriately, however, would be an exhibit of persons banned from the game, with Rose being part of the exhibit.

I didn't understand his post either. Pat Dad, did you agree with me or disagree? Pete was banned from his chosen profession and lost all his money gambling. I don't feel sorry for him for that because he made the bad choices. However, everyone needs money to live and Pete needed money to retire. Should he have worked at a 7/11 and passed out free autographs?

I was a big Rose fan at one time. I believe he should be in the HOF on his accomplishments on the field. But, I also believe he did wrong by baseball. lied, and kept it that way until he needed funds. I don't have a problem with him sitting at card shows and/or autograph signings with other stars. But making money off of, see my post above.

Our Home Town Hero is an addicted Gambleaholic and a pathological liar, and this is a good thing?

I thought the same thing.

I agree, the apology baseball is definitely a slap.

I see it like this, he just happened to be dumb enough to get caught.

Look at some of the others. Cobb, Boggs, Ruth...etc.
