August 29, 20179 yr Mother's for breakfast. Be sure to get a bloody Mary. Antoine's for lunch. Antoine's is one of the best restaurants in the country. It's the oldest continuously run family restaurant in the country. Opened in 1840. Food is just as good at lunch but 1/3 the price. Go to the New Orleans Cigar Factory on Decatur. Go to the factory and not just the little store. Pick up some fresh smokes. Mulate's is excellent cajun and is not over priced. Go to Pat O'Briens and get a hurricane Verti Marte makes the best Po'boys in the city.
August 29, 20179 yr Get a Beignet from Cafe du Monde...Most overrated thing about NO, and I think the food is the biggest reason to go there! IMO....
August 29, 20179 yr Most overrated thing about NO. IMO.... I don't disagree. Still a neat place, and something I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area for the 1st time.

August 29, 20179 yr Take one of the haunted history tours. They meet at Reverend Zombie's Voodoo Shop. Even if you don't believe in ghosts the stories behind why the places are supposed to be haunted are cool.
August 29, 20179 yr If an event was going on at the historical Saenger Theatre I'd say no doubt get inside of that place and experience how incredible it is, but looking at their schedule the next thing happening isn't until September 16 with An Evening with Tedeschi Trucks Band, which would be very cool, but unfortunately more than two weeks down the road. Here’s a virtual tour of the magnificent place. Virtual Tours When inside it’s so cool to see the faux night sky ceiling where it meets the ancient looking monument statues peering down over the seating from high atop the theatre.
August 30, 20179 yr Author Ate supper at the original Pierre Maspero's. In a very neat old historic building with tons of History and good food too. Finished the night at Cafe Du Monde with some Beignets and coffee. Walked to the cigar Factory and my coworker bought a cigar that he really liked. Back at the hotel. Already have plans for Thursday night, the Saints are in town playing Baltimore got online and got tickets for 15 bucks a piece.

I've done it on a Sunday morning prior to a Saints regular season game. I really thought I had seen everything...until I saw a transgender woman in Saints wear! Who Dat?
August 30, 20179 yr Walk down Bourbon Street on Thursday night. I've done it on a Sunday morning prior to a Saints regular season game. I really thought I had seen everything...until I saw a transgender woman in Saints wear! Who Dat? You ought to go to Mardi Gras. Let me just say, there ain't nothing like it. We went three years ago and OH MY! Next time we meet up I'll tell you about the twins. Even the old BM stood there with my mouth agape (no jokes here).
