Boone County 34 Ryle 22

Featured Replies

The hiring of Coach Gary Schaefer at Boone County a few years ago is probably the best thing they could have done IMO. The guy is a very good OC.

Are you talking about Gary Schrader????? If you are he used to coach at HHS and was my 7th and 8th grade head coach.. Gary knows how to call a game. I think he was a former qb at HHS????

Maybe I am and maybe I'm not. But I deffinetly could be.

What's really in a name any way?

Point is, the guy is good and he is the difference at BC IMO.

That's him.

Nice game by Boone. Both teams played hard.

If I'm not mistaken he started calling the plays mid way through the season two years ago when Boone went on to make the Final 4. I've been very impressed.

:thumb: I agree. There for a while the old "power I" attack wasn't having much success, especially against Ryle. Then the new o-coordinator comes in and magically they are having more success against the better teams in our district(not to mention more playoff success). This is not 1940, and Ryle doesn't have the kind of linemen and backs that Boone Co. had in Coach Warner's heyday. At best Ryle is playing to beat the local teams, because if history has taught us anything it's that 1-dimensional offenses aren't going to get it done against the Louisville teams. Despite some success in the regular season, IMO Ryle has squandered some of the best athletes in NKY in the last 3 years. I've said enough, and this after cooling down for a day, let's just say I'm not happy.:irked:

I forgot to ask this of my BC friends: Why does Boone have a Conner-Cougar-blue flag that they parade around before the game?

I got there right after kick off, must have missed that.

I hear you. I still think that Ryle is the most talented 4A team in NKY. They just got out coached in the second half. Coaching allows kids to be in the position to win. I'm going to watch the game again, but it seemed to me that they did not put the kids in that position in the second half.

IMO, you are correct. Hopefully, this game serves to awaken a team that did not play Friday night at the same level they had played at in 5 other games. Too many mistakes and missed tackles and opportunities.

Ryles starting O-line:

LT 250

LG 275

C 230

RG 235

RT 340

Ryle did rush for 200 yards. Maybe the undersized line you are refering to is on the other side of the ball. But in the end you are correct PB, the lack of a passing attack will doom the raiders.

Those weights do the there size justice. There all short and usually look undersized against there opponents.

I didn't notice that Friday.

Congrats to Boone County and coaching staff. I was unable to attend the game however, I did watch it on ICN6 and I want to personally thank both Boone County and Ryle for a great Compliment to my Brother-in-law Randy Cooper. Both schools recognized Randy and his accomplishments at both Boone and Ryle. A special thanks to Coach Bryson Warner for his comments and compliments of Randy Cooper and what he means to him. Also to the players whom spoke so highly of him. What a great tribute to a great person and a very good friend of mine whom I miss dearly. Again thanks to ICN6 and all whom was involved in the half time show. THANKS!!!!!!!!!! JD

I guess you can give me an example of a larger O line in n.k.
