Boone County 34 Ryle 22

Featured Replies

A sweet game and a great atmosphere. I thought Boone Co. had excellent play calling, mixing in Kaiser and Arie to compliment Farris. Duece (#22) made a couple very nice catches and Bogle throws a nice ball. Ryle is certainly not a team built to come from behind. It was pretty sweet watching Farris out run Grey to the end zone on the last play, both are great players. Ryle will bounce back, I promise you that. Talking to one of the Ryle faithful after the game she said that the Raiders came in cocky and Boone came ready to play. What is it about the Rebels that makes them come alive mid way through the season, every year it seems like.

The problem is that deep down inside these NKY schools always have and apparently always will feel inferior to Boone County, it becomes evident in their coaching and late season struggles against the Rebels, EVERY year.

Ryle was rolling in the first half. Murray and Gray were tearing it up. Boone came out in the second half and just outplayed the Raiders. I'll be the first to eat crow because I definetly picked Ryle to win big

You Have to remember that Ryles Werner is a student of Owen Hauck and an all American Player, all he really learned was 2 yards and a cloud of dust which at that time was the basic game. Now it does not always work, From what Ive seen he's changing kind of getting an education by fire if he stays at Ryle which I think he will he will again be a winner, just takes a little time

ryles oc is the head coach

And he played LINEBACKER in college.

The hiring of Coach Gary Schaefer at Boone County a few years ago is probably the best thing they could have done IMO. The guy is a very good OC.

Simply put Ryle didn't bring it, and Boone did. Boone was probably foaming at the mouth ready to play this Ryle team that probably is the favorite to win District, but there certainly not heads and shoulders above Boone and probably Dixie at this point. Ryle's offense is so boring sometimes I don't understand it. We don't average 250 on the line more like 200 your not going to pound the ball constantly in 4A football doing that...

One could argue that they could have been working on the passing game in non-district games but I think winning non-district football games is important and if that means not throwing any passes so be it.

I would subscribe to the theory that there are a few important games that you get read for - DISTRICT. If you're not working on important factets of the game prior to district, you're doing an disservice to your team.

Plus the field conditions made it tough to pass if you haven't been working on it. Where's that S. Alexander turf?

Boone passed well and I don't think they've exactly gone Don Coryell prior to Friday night.

Thank you, Dr. Phil.

ICN6, who broadcast the game live, said that Farris carried 41 times for 130 someodd yards. Considering he had 60-70 yards on the game clinching drive, the Raiders must have held him in check for most of the game. Hard to do! Ryle D did their job on long drives.

The Enquirer had him down for 26 carries. On the first drive, he seemed to be getting 5 yards a pop. Again, hats off to the right tackle.

Any Boone fan have a score for their Freshmen game this week?

This was a great Friday night. If you were like me and were simply there to watch a good game, you had a great night. Great crowd . Hats off to Boone's fans for being so loud. Great band. Great atmosphere. Players who grew up with each other jawing all night, hitting a little extra hard, sustaining blocks a little longer. Old-fashioned muddy field with not much grass. Old-fashioned football (ie "passing is bad").

Great night. Excellent use of my $5.

Boone down 9-7 with seconds remaining in the first half on the one yard line and dedide to go for it. Go into the half up 13-9 after punching it in and receive to start the 2nd. That was HUGE

Ryles starting O-line:

LT 250

LG 275

C 230

RG 235

RT 340

Ryle did rush for 200 yards. Maybe the undersized line you are refering to is on the other side of the ball. But in the end you are correct PB, the lack of a passing attack will doom the raiders.
