August 20, 20179 yr Beginning in Atlanta with huge tailgate party. Wouldn't most teams already know who are their backups. Kap opted out of his contract or he would still be a 49er wouldn't he? Kaepernick supporters call for NFL boycott | Fox News
August 20, 20179 yr I'll just leave this article I read last night for you guys to check out. It's by retired NFL lineman Stephen White. He explodes some myths about Kaepernick's alleged poor play as the reason why he's not got a team. Colin Kaepernick’s film shows there is no excuse for him to be unemployed - SBNation.com
August 20, 20179 yr So, this cat thinks that I should not go watch an NFL game until Kap gets picked up? Good freakin luck with that plan. Moron

He explodes some myths about Kaepernick's alleged poor play as the reason why he's not got a team. Colin Kaepernick’s film shows there is no excuse for him to be unemployed - SBNation.com I read it. So, essentially he struggled because of lack of continuity with coordinators, pedestrian wide receivers, poor OL play. Lots of excuses. With all due respect to the author, I think I'd love him as a backup. Frankly, I'd prefer him over the one my fave team employs. But in no way would I pay him starter money. And the teams that could afford that also have the problems that the author outlined as reasons/excuses for bad numbers. I have no issue with Kap. I don't want him as the starter for my club. He could fly the bird during the anthem for all I care.
August 20, 20179 yr Author If an owner thought he could lead them to playoffs and or super bowl then he would be on a team. I also think that if he was good enough then Baltimore would pick him up because of the brother connection and how good Harbough said he was.

August 20, 20179 yr Author Or just the fact he sucks. He don't suck, but he isn't a starter by any means anymore and I think a lot of it deals with salary cap issues.
August 20, 20179 yr If I could trade Landry Jones for Kap at the same $, I'd pull that lever immediately.
August 20, 20179 yr N.F.L. teams want to win in my opinion. If they thought for a minute that Kap would help them do this , someone would have scooped him up by now. I just don`t think he`s worth what it would cost to sign him.
August 20, 20179 yr If I could trade Landry Jones for Kap at the same $, I'd pull that lever immediately. I agree. The thought of having to play Landry Jones makes my stomach Queasy. If Ben goes down, the Steelers are hurting.
August 20, 20179 yr Kap will get offered a job when a contending team loses a QB and gets desperate for wins. Baltimore might still end up being the place. However, it takes two to tango. It is awful quiet from the Kapernick side. Does he have an agent? Is he actively trying to get a job? What type of deal is he demanding? I wonder if teams have contacted his agent and been told he will only sign for a two year deal, or a certain bonus amount or something like that. Why aren't we hearing anything from Kapernick?
August 21, 20179 yr Too darn many lawyers in this world. Let the owners hire who they want to hire, it's their right as the owners. This is just silly.
August 21, 20179 yr Classic risk/reward. Kap has not proven, on the football field, to be worth the risk with the surrounding circumstances. He hasn't sucked, but his talents aren't irreplaceable. I agree with the video in that the NFL is being "shaken down" by this movement. "Now that he is unsigned the league is racist".... as an owner would you want to touch that? Starter has a bad half and suddenly you are on the receiving end of relentless backlash.

Starter has a bad half and suddenly you are on the receiving end of relentless backlash. But yet 70% of the people employed by this league as players are black.
August 21, 20179 yr Nationwide boycotts rarely work for the vast majority. Politics never goes into my decision on what I buy or watch for entertainment. As in most cases, just media grabbing. I just yawn at these things. He will probably end up somewhere in the first few weeks.
