September 27, 200619 yr Shockey is a goon... At least he's not getting suspended for the year, or spending the summer getting arrested multiple times. I'll take Shockey over that type of player ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
September 27, 200619 yr I'm looking for comments and not sure what "big deal" implies. Publicly criticising your head coach, is crossing a professional line to me and same would be said, if a head coach publicly criticized a player, or players each other. These are the things to be discussed in locker rooms and behind closed doors. It's easy to ask forgiveness, being sincere is the hard to judge part. I agree that it's wrong. But it is being blown up bigger than it should be. He made a mistake...oh well. He's a pro bowler every year, I can take a couple of stupid remarks on his part as long as he produces on the field.

He is one of the top tight ends every year. He hustles EVERY PLAY. I've watched every Giants game since his career began. He gets frustrated sometimes when he doesn't get the ball. No different than any other player who plays TE or WR. He just opens his mouth too much sometimes.

Bottom line though is that Tiki, Strahan, Toomer, Shockey etc have all had their little episodes over the coaching. I think where there's smoke there's fire on this one. It is time for a change with that group IMO.

It is time for a change with that group IMO. What has Toomer done???? They signed Plaxico to take his spot and moved him to the slot position, and you didn't hear a peep from Toomer about it. He's a classy guy. Tiki slippd up once and said one bad thing, Strahan the same. Shockey slips up once in a while, but time for a change?!? :laugh: That's rediculous.
September 28, 200619 yr funny thing... one that hasn't said anything may be the best potential player out of them all (Umenyiora).... Umenyiora is a heck of a talent. He's a great pass rusher and with Strahan's teaching will become good at stopping the run.
September 29, 200619 yr Shockey is a loud mouth. This isn't his first time being in the center of controversy. The teams in the NFL will learn one of these days that guys like Shockey, Moss, Thurmand, etc do more harm than good. Tight ends, wide receivers, and running backs are a dime a dozen.
