Giants Shockey's Comments.....Thoughts

Featured Replies

Shockey is a loud mouth. This isn't his first time being in the center of controversy. The teams in the NFL will learn one of these days that guys like Shockey, Moss, Thurmand, etc do more harm than good. Tight ends, wide receivers, and running backs are a dime a dozen.

What has Shockey done to hurt the NFL? Has he EVER been in trouble with the law? Please do not compare someone who just says the wrong things every once in a while, to someone who drives drunk and gets arrested twice before the season starts. That's unfair to Shockey.

Just another spoiled, over hyped pro athlete. The sad thing is that most athletes are good people but guys like the ones I mentioned are going to drive the average fan away from the game.

Once again, Shockey has done nothing to hurt the game. He's no worse than Chad Johnson.

Then why are you in this thread making comments about the Giants?

Because any shots I can get on the Giants....I take 'em...

See thats where you are wrong....name one time CJ called his coach out infront of the media.....

So you think a team that is underachieving and has a Coach that multiple stars have called out hasn't lost a little bit of his faith from his team? Wait LaVar did stand up for him.

The Giants should be a LEGIT Super Bowl Contender IMO. The season is young so we shall see. I think if he wins then great! It is a TOUGH profession. I think if they fall way short then he is gone. If he's in between then it just depends on how things play out.

That is all just my opinion. It will be interesting to follow. With all that being said Shockey has always been a loudmouth so I don't put too much stock in him.

The Giants have THREE new starters in the defensive backfield, a new starter at linebacker, and a new starter at DT. They are underachieving on defense but a lot of that can be contributed to the fact that many of the new players are learning a complicated defense. LaVar stood up for that.

That sentence is confusing. A team has lost faith in his team? Or the team stood up for the coach? Very unclear to me.

The second part of your post is confusing as well. The post you quoted of mine was about Toomer. Is this "he" you refer to in your post Toomer, or Coughlin?

If it's Coughlin, are you suggesting the Giants fire him after taking a 4-12 team, to 11-5 in 1 year with a first year starter at QB? The season is young. The giants are playing bad, but there's 13 games left. It's not even close to being over. When the Giants are 1-6, I'll worry.

I thought you didn't care about them? Contradicting statements.

So what Shockey did makes him a horrible person/athlete?

I thought you didn't care about them? Contradicting statements.

I dont care..meaning I do not like them.

Yeah, well another funny thing is I dont care about NYG, so I dont follow, nor do I care when they play..:sssh: :sssh:

That's what you meant in that post?

 Did the Giants owner kick your dog or spit in your cheerios or something?

This has nothing to do with the owner...so that makes no sense, and this is getting a little childish so I done in this thread.

 That's when I thought it started getting childish. You are correct though, this needs to get back on topic.

BTW, I wonder why this thread is so hoppin, but the one I started where Shockey publicly apologized for his comments....is dead.

Dont worry.... we'll wait.

LET ME SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU...... multiple stars on the team have called out their coach. Shockey is a loudmouth! He is only one of the stars that has commented on their unhappiness with the coaching. They are underachieving. If it continues to go on all year then I wouldn't be at all suprised to see him gone. If he wins then no big deal. If it's anywhere in between then it just depends on how the season plays out.

Nowhere did I ever say the season is over? They should be in the NFC Championship IMO with the talent they have. The season is young but they are underachieving right now. Nothing more, nothing less!

It's kind of like when TO. When you are a loudmouth you draw attention. When you constantly draw attention people don't take you real serious for your apologies.

I kind of like Shockey. He is hurt too much and runs his mouth too much but I like watching him play and the matchups he creates. I also like his edge sometimes. I could definatly see why some people couldn't stand him though.

Gone? Who would the Giants replace him with?? Write this down, Shockey will be a NY Giant next year. They have underacheived through 3 games , and you are ACTING like their season is over. You are OVERREACTING just like they are underacheiving. It is NO BIG DEAL at this moment. Shockey apologized publicly, he made a mistake. Heck even Curt Schilling said he thinks athletes should not be held accountable for things they say within a hour of the game because they are simply too emotional. that's what happened to Shockey, he got too emotional because he loves to win.
