The Walking Dead (Season 8)

10,000,000,000 bullets shot and only a handful of deaths.

Couldn't help but notice one person that was gunned down was shot while running in front of his own people. I actually went back and watched it again to confirm how stupid it was. Never noticed anyone popping in a new clip either.

I hate Ezekiel.

Me thinks he is stupid! That Tiger is well trained. It only knows to eat bad guys!

It was as bad as a basic cable show production could be.

One more issue. All of these people getting shot, shouldn't they start to turn as well?

They were turning. Didn't you see the lead Savior, Mara(?) get bit?

That was their whole gameplan. Kill a few of them and just wait for them to turn and take care of business.

Wasn't sure if it was from one of her own dead or the cast of walkers that Daryl was leading to them? Lot's of bodies lying around that were not head shots. Also when Morgan got up, the dude next to him was breathing.

I think these last two episodes would have been vastly improved if they had done just like a one minute rundown of what the plan was ahead of time for the audience. Without knowing what the end game of each little mission is (besides kill them all) it makes it hard to appreciate what's happening. For example, I had no idea why that one guy getting away from Ezekiel's group mattered in the slightest. He was going to tip off the next stop? Surely they had already been tipped off by any one of the other groups that were already under attack. Unless maybe that was happening in a slightly different timeline than the rest of them. I don't know.

I wish they would run upon some people trying to figure out a cure and cause of the zombie outbreak.

I would also like to see some type of military and type of actual government trying to get things back.

I really like the parts when they were in GA and the CDC and learning about the outbreak.

But who am I, Im just a ref, not a producer.

They kind of deliberately addressed it early on and got away from it, because Robert Kirkman has said the story isn't about finding a cure. I think the idea is that society has collapsed too far at this point for any semblance of the government/military that existed before to do anything. The fact that we watched the CDC explode in the first season was both literal and symbolic evidence of this collapse. The unraveling of Eugene's story added even more to this idea. Also, if you watch the sister series Fear the Walking Dead you get to see on screen how quickly government and military control unraveled during this thing. And in Fear there was a very quick, but important scene to TWD universe as a wholewhich revealed that the whole world is like this.

That being said it's entirely possible the story has gone that route in the comics (I'm not a comic reader) or will go that route at some point in the future.

I like the direction of the show. I think the first two episodes have been great

Have we established if Maggie is still pregnant? The smashing of the prenatal vitamins and mention of her makes me think that she is.

Prediction: in true TWD fashion, the next time we see Maggie on screen she will have a visible “bump”.

Also—had a discussion with my son on this—

I think that the writers are doing such a great job of developing other characters that if Rick was killed, the story could still thrive, IMO.

What about his flash forwards?

She has to be. They would have made a big deal of her losing the baby to help create rage against Negan, etc.
