Here it is.Owens was told by the prep school not to finish his senior year so he could have another year to play. The school shut down do to lack of funding,Owens went back to school to finish, not to play basketball,His plans are to finish and attend Morehead State and play basketball.:thumb:

I hope it works out!!

Im with Rickyp. I thought Antonio was a wonderfull player who seemed to be a very nice young man. At least that was my take on him.

As of this date, Antonio has not shown the discipline it will take to play on any d-1 level, hopefully, he will get it, if not, he is going to have a great streetball career

Do all of the kids at the Ramey Home end up in foster care? Of course not.

This is not an indictment of foster homes or foster parents. I know they do care about the kids they take in and I admire them. But the practice of cherry picking athletes from the Ramey Home is a joke.

There are many kids that go to BC right now that dont play sports at all ,that are in foster care.

I hope it works out!!

Me Too!

Owens definitely got some bad advice. Correct me if im wrong but cant you get a 5th year of playing at a prep school. It just looks really bad to have two studs from the Home come and play ball then disappear after the season is over without graduating. Maybe the people at the home should re-evaluate Boyd County getting the good athletes and send them to another school in the area.

Well look to see this happening soon,I see a big bright future for the, well I shouldnt say but oh well GO TOMCATS!!!!

Doesn't change my opinion that Boyd County takes advantage of the situation.

I wouldnt say BOYD CO takes advantage of this....I would say the Coaching Staff and foster parents take advantage of this. I would say some of the players have been more of a distraction, then a complete help. Dont get me wrong, Owens was the team last year, but without Owens there would have been a actual TEAM. Like I said earlier, I extremely enjoyed watching Owens play and was amazed by his talent, but wished things would have clicked better.

If you was to come to Boyd County and take a vote of all the parents in the County, you would probably greatly find that the Majority of parents would rather not use transfers...Probably a great Majority. If that consisted of getting beat, then so be it...

I agree with Tiny on this one...There are a large amount of kids that attend Boyd County schools that dont play sports that attend the Ramey Home, I may be wrong, but I believe there are quite a few that attend other area High Schools as well.

That is really sad there......:irked:

But like I said earlier the population in Boyd would rather the transfers go to Ashland.....

But just remember......Ashland doesnt take transfers....especially from Ramey Home...Remember???????;) Thats funny I dont care who you are.....

Also....has anyone noticed that Boyd scheduled Rose Hill this year.....I guess they are gonna take like a man....what about Ashland...they still boycotting....? Maybe when they get this transfer in, then maybe they might play....

I just wish the whole Region would get back to everyone playing everyone...All the schools are losing out on some great gate earnings.

Redblood, I understand where you are coming from. I certainly didn't mean to include everyone that has children at Boyd Co. I think you have to look at it from the prespective of other schools. Boyd has had Fugate and Owens over the past 3 seasons and neither hung around after the season ended. There maybe very valid reasons for this but it does open BC up for to be criticized. Even though I didn't agree with everything that was said about RH during the OJ days I could see why it upset other schools.

I realize that Ashland has a good athlete that is in foster care. I don't believe he came from the Ramey Home.

Boyd has played RH every year but OJ's last season. Look I have no issues with Boyd Co. other that the Ramey Home situation.

I don't know if many of you guys know this but Antonio and Tory Robertson are brothers and I dont think anyone of them are playing ball. To me who ever these two boys are listening to they need some new advisors

RedBlood is corrct in much of what he has posted. These "transfers" hurt Boyd County's overall program far more than they help it. Ramey-Estep has its own very well funded high school (others should be so well funded by the taxpayers). Individuals at that facility should attend school at that facility with no exceptions.

Redblood is also correct in regard to local scheduling. For example, I understand that Ashland's girls "filled" their schedule before scheduling Rose Hill. Does anyone think that this was unintentional? Such dodging doesn't help the "tradition".

What does that Ashland/Rose Hill girls schedule have to do with where Antonio Owens is right now?
