I didn't think about it, he was planning on being in attendance. I apologize.

I wouldnt say BOYD CO takes advantage of this....I would say the Coaching Staff and foster parents take advantage of this. I would say some of the players have been more of a distraction, then a complete help. Dont get me wrong, Owens was the team last year, but without Owens there would have been a actual TEAM. Like I said earlier, I extremely enjoyed watching Owens play and was amazed by his talent, but wished things would have clicked better.

If you was to come to Boyd County and take a vote of all the parents in the County, you would probably greatly find that the Majority of parents would rather not use transfers...Probably a great Majority. If that consisted of getting beat, then so be it...

You can blame the team thing on the coaches ,Owens only done what he was told to do!

Redblood, I understand where you are coming from. I certainly didn't mean to include everyone that has children at Boyd Co. I think you have to look at it from the prespective of other schools. Boyd has had Fugate and Owens over the past 3 seasons and neither hung around after the season ended. There maybe very valid reasons for this but it does open BC up for to be criticized. Even though I didn't agree with everything that was said about RH during the OJ days I could see why it upset other schools.

I realize that Ashland has a good athlete that is in foster care. I don't believe he came from the Ramey Home.

So are you saying that Ashland would not accept foster kids from Ramey?I would rather a foster kid or any kid go to Ashland or any other school at this point. This is in the near future.

That is really sad there......:irked:

But like I said earlier the population in Boyd would rather the transfers go to Ashland.....

But just remember......Ashland doesnt take transfers....especially from Ramey Home...Remember???????;) Thats funny I dont care who you are.....

Population in Boyd would rather the transfers go to Ashland? NOW THATS SAD,but your are right these kids take crap from parents all the time. Its time to see how other schools treat these kids,I will say nothing like BC.I just wonder what and how far Ashland or any other school would have went with Owens or Fugate.

No I'm not saying that at all. I am saying that they have not had a high profile athlete from the Ramey Home. At least that I am aware of.

Well there is a good chance of this about to happen. So do you think this will work?

Work in what way? I'm not trying to be arguementitive I'm just not sure where your heading.

Do I think it is wrong that the athletic kids at the Ramey Home seem to be targeted, yes. Like scooterbob mentioned earlier they have an excellent school at the Ramey Home.

When a kid complets the program, they can stay here in foster care or they may not have a home to go to,after completing the program they can not go to school there. It seems as if you and scooterbob think they are monsters or diffrent from the rest of us, they are human to just like you and me.they do make mistakes and bad choices just like any other kid.

I will have to agree with you on one part....A coach that cant win the Region with either of those players... especially Owens, deserves to be fired. Owens could have won ball games in the 16th Region almost alone with just a little game plan and a little help.

Tiny, I understand. I too have made plenty of mistakes. I have said that I thought Owens seemed like a very respectable young man. I never saw him do anything on the court to suggest otherwise. Go back and look at the threads from last year. I never, ever said one bad thing about him.

My problem is that it appears, at least from the outside, that the better athlete you are the better chance you have to the county school. In addition the past couple of high profile athletes bolted immediately after their basketball season was completed. I hope you can step back and see how that my be perceived, fair or unfair.

So Owens didn't have a home to go to in Sept. but did as soon as the basketball season was over? From what I understand the same thing happened a couple of years ago, if that is not the case then I will stand corrected.

I just feel that Boyd Co. is and has taking advantage of this situation.

In Boyd county we need to get back to basics....In football and Basketball and start teaching these young men at an early age, with good coaches, not just anyone that wants to coach. We need to quit relying on transfers or Ramey home players and produce and teach some good young men. Unfortunately those standards are not going to get done with the Men that are in charge now.

Boyd Counties Football and Basketball programs may have one or two qualified coaches in the whole young player system, including Elem and Middle Schools.

We have took a step back in teaching kids fundamentals and qualities that are important in sports. All the coaches do now is help their own son and see what tricky play we can run next.

I can see how this would look that way, Owens chose to go home untill the prep school started,Owens could have went home way before that it was his choice not BC.A think about this 6-5 sophmore basketball PG,football TE,LB,and plays 1st base on the baseball field,AND IS NOT A FOSTER KID,but is related to one.:thumb:

Tell them how you really feel.:D :D :D

I don't think you can blame Pratt, has Owens ever played on a championship team? Did he win any of the all star games he played in ? Owens is a tremendous talent but he has never been shown how to be a teammate.

Pratt is a good coach, but he didnt hold Owens accountable. That is the only thing he is guilty of. Boyd County will go farther this year than they did last year is my guess.
