June 21, 20179 yr If I posted how many times I've narrowly avoided a good beating it would look like a BBallfan post!
June 21, 20179 yr Like you were this morning? :lol2: Nah, just medically sedated this morning! :lol2:
June 25, 20179 yr Use to work with a black guy who was a body builder (no, not Clizzy LOL), and we would always joke around with one another. One night I see him and his friends at the Newport McDonald's, so as me and my friends are heading to our car I yell out, "get your black butts out here". My friends are in complete shock at what I've just said......my buddy comes over and starts giving me the "business" and his friends start coming over towards my friends, who are about to urinate all over themselves.....LOL. My buddy says, "looks like we have a problem here", by now my friends have "crapped themselves". Then my buddy gives me a "hi-five" and we give each other a hug, as both groups of friends are baffled. The beating I nearly avoided was with my friends who were scared "poopless". LOL
July 4, 20179 yr Mr. Cat says it's a miracle but I've never been in a fight in my life or even been in a situation where I thought I would have to fight my way out. Thats because you scary the holy hell out of everyone.
July 4, 20179 yr Well there was that time last year at the gas station a guy (I think) was trying to mug me when grandpa pulled a pistol.
July 4, 20179 yr Drinking on a Friday night my junior year in high school with three buddies. We were staooped at a traffic light at Fern Valley and Preston heading south in Okolona just south of Louisville.. A car pulls up beside us with four guys. For absolutely no reason I shot them the bird. Guy in the passenger seat jumps out of the car, I do the same. He has a monkey wrench in his hand, i have nothing. As he turns the corner around our car the blue lights fire up behind us. We both jump back into our cars. We turn right on Fern Valley and take off, they go straight. The cop follows them. I not only skipped getting my teeth knocked in, I also skipped probably going to jail. To this day, I have no idea why the guy in the passenger seat of the other car had a monkey wrench either in his hand or close by.
July 5, 20179 yr Lover here , but been in a few scraps , always .. always always always over a girl. Never really got beaten badly , let a guy kick my legs a bunch in a stand up affair , didnt think much about it at the time , next day legs were black . Only fight I've been in where I didnt really want to engage the guy , that girl wasnt worth it , and he was a lifelong " friend"
July 5, 20179 yr I've not ever gotten out of a "beating"...when I worked my way into fights, they happened. I do have a kind of funny one that could deserve being in this thread. In my late 20s I was living up in Bellevue, KY. I had had a particularly bad day at work one Friday - that day still stands as one of my toughest days at work ever. Anyway, my best friend came over and we went on a self-guided walking tour of all the bars we could find in Bellevue and Dayton, and I decided to make it a bourbon kind of night. We were at a bar in Dayton, I honestly can't recall which, but I decided to cop an attitude, and I started making some intentionally loud comments to my friend about my thoughts on sleeveless t-shirts at places that serve food and drinks (probably 10 or 11 of the 15 or so patrons in the bar had sleeveless t-shirts on). Anyway, I was sitting at the bar with my friend, and next thing I know I had some 50-ish year old guy step up behind me and ask me if I had a problem with the shirt he was wearing. I said, "Well yes...but my bigger problem with you is the fact that you decided you needed to get a confederate flag tattooed on your arm." Next thing I know, the guy reaches back and takes a swing at me. He was drunk enough that all I needed to do was duck a little, and he completely whiffed and missed me. As I'm watching drunk stars-and-bars tumble down in front of me, I see the bartender coming up over the bar out of the corner of my eye, and I think "Well, this is when I proceed to get my rear end handed to me." Instead, the bartender goes right past me, he grabs stars-and-bars under his arms and proceeds to drag him across the bar and literally toss him out the door. I watched him as he returned back behind the bar, he walked up to me, took a deep breath and said, "I've got your drinks for the rest of the night. I've been trying to find a reason to kick that butt hole out of here for 3 years." I had one more drink, on the house, and walked home. Edited July 5, 20179 yr by Colonels_Wear_Blue
July 5, 20179 yr Thats because you scary the holy hell out of everyone. :lol2: I don't think that's it but good to know that I've got you shaking a bit!
July 5, 20179 yr I think I have one that applies. For those that know me, I'm a big white dude (that comes into play later). Though not in shape now, I was in tremendous shape in my early 20's when in the Army...6'5, 240 and built to last. However, I was the proverbial "gentle giant" and usually avoided conflict and had a very laid back, easy demeanor...EXCEPT for the few times I didn't and lost my temper. This was one of those times. So me and 5-6 buddies head to one of the softball fields on post one Sunday afternoon for softball practice. We get there, and there are 15-20 fellow black solders (they were all unknown to me) in the outfield with a football. They aren't playing at the time and appears they may have just finished up a game or something, as they were all standing in a semi circle just kind of talking. Well, my guys are all like "aww man, how we gonna practice". So I said I would go ask if it would be possible for them to move across the street to the large open field that was used for flag football and let us have the softball field for practice. So, that's exactly what I did. Well, for some reason that I still can't figure out, after approaching the guys and asking if they could move across the street and let us have the field, a couple of the guys started dropping some unsavory racial slang on me in a very aggressive manner..."red neck white boy" this and "cracker" that, "we ain't blanking moving". Took me completely by surprise. After a few seconds of mild shock, what they said finally sank in, and instead of shrugging my shoulders and walking away lie is my normal personality, gentle giant went ballistic, and stupidly so. "Flight or fight" kicked in, and my brain went to "fight". So I gave back tit for tat, and I dropped some very unsavory words right back at them. I wanted to tick them off the way they did me, and boy did I. But I didn't stop there, I told them I was going to kick every one of their "butts", and to line up and come get it. I am screaming at them at the top of my lungs, challenging every one of them to a fight. I had literally snapped. In a way I guess it was kind of funny, because over the years looking back at it, the look on many of their faces was utter shock, and I can only imagine several of them were thinking they had crossed some kind of psychotic white dude that was off his meds and might do something crazy. So after my not so subtle challenge we are at a standoff for 30 seconds or so...they don't move, and I keep screaming for them to come and get some. At this point my teammates (also in my unit) start coming out of the dugout hollering at me asking if everything was alright, a couple of them with softball bats in their hands. The guys I have been screaming at see this, start backing away saying they don't want no trouble and leave...I turn back around walking toward the dugout still fuming/cussing a blue streak, took me a few minutes to "calm down". Not one of my prouder, or smarter, moments for sure, and I'm not real sure what I would have done had 4 or 5 of them decided to take me up on my challenge, all at the same time. Glad I didn't find out. I'm quite sure I somehow avoided a beating that day.
