Kentucky Senior All-Stars 117 Kentucky Junior All-Stars 115

No doubt. Looks like no CJ and no Fitzgerald for the Juniors.

Both were asked to attend and play for the juniors and couldn't due to prior commitments.

I've noticed that a few kids who put up huge numbers during the season seem to struggle to get points in games like this.

Competition level changes a bit.

Very few screens set in all star settings. Typically you have to be able to get your own shot. I thought the Jr"s played well overall. Taylor missed a shot that he normally makes

Or just shoot the ball 30 times. You gotta be kidding me!

On some high school teams in the state they run there whole offense through their one star player and they are always looking to get their own shot. I don't blame the player, I blame the coaches for not teaching them the right way to play the game, especially some of these guards. They need to start learning how to be so unselfish and learning how to kick the ball out to open shooters because they won't be getting those shots off against taller college kids. And while I'm at it, please quit bombing NBA threes. Just because you are open doesn't mean it is a good shot.

Looking at the stats Adam Kunkel had a really outstanding game. Scored 15 and only missed a single shot he took. He also led the team in assists and only had a single turnover. If the Juniors had been better on the boards as someone mentioned it could have went the other way. The other thing that jumped out was the turnovers killed the 2018 class. They had 20 as a team and several who likely played the lead guard spot had over 10 together. I heard Jalen Johnson was on fire from the 3 point line and it sure looks like he filled it up from there and at the line hitting 8 out of 8.

Truth is alot of the Jr's played well in the game...Jalen, Mickey, Cobe, Treyvon, Adam, Andrew, Skyler. They shot the ball real good especially from behind the arc. And I'm fairly sure they could have stole the game at the end. There were only a couple of kids on the Jr team that maybe appeared a little bit off.

Jalen Johnson is highly underrated but 2nd region never get no love! 27 point and 5 on one day call up, while practicing football is impressive!

He carried them in the first half

Heard the Kentucky team lost 94-89 this evening. Didn't make the game but hear future WKU kids just want to shoot it all the time. Not sure what Western sees there. Not a fan of either one. You play the game with one basketball and you PLAY as a team. One or two guys jacking up 30 shots a piece is ridiculous. If they are true "All Star Basketball Players" their BBall IQ would tell them differently. Sounds like this is just a typical All Star game, no passing, no defense and jack everything you can get your paws on. Funny though as I heard the coach talking about how he wanted to compete and hopefully beat this Indiana team which Kentucky has lost to for several years now. If you really want to win coach, stop the selfish play. All these kids can score or they wouldn't be there. Spread the shots around. Two guys shooting that much will win you nothing. (Mic Drop)

Hollingsworth had 30 points and Ohmer had 20 they did great from what I heard.

You have a problem with 16/20 with one turnover?

If that final score is correct then I'd say this may be the best we have played Indiana in a while. They usually blow us out. Hopefully we can get the W today.

Hollingsworth was 10/26.

Ohmer 7/24.

This applies to non-All Star regular HS too. Seems to be a growing trend to allow players to 'express themselves offensively' leading to limited understanding of what a good shot is or how to create one. And as long as officials continue to bail out an out-of-control drive with a foul call and coaches encourage 'attack the basket and draw the foul' without ample people or ball movement, while players are allowed to take bad shots without repercussion, the trend will continue.
