I think it has been more anticipated by my friends that are GS fans or LeBron haters than by the few Cleveland fans I know. GS fans and LeBron haters both looking for and praying for a beat down in the finals. The Cav fans I know were hoping for anyone but the Warriors to make the finals :lol2:

 

To the casual fan and Sports Media yes this will be hyped unlike any over the past few years.

 

It's going to be Superman and Batman versus the entire Avengers Cast plus the X-Men...should be fun.

I think the Lakers/Celtics in the 80s may have been more anticipated than this series. It's super hard to explain the Bird/Magic phenomenon of the 80s if you didn't witness it. Those games were epic. I mean hell, I actually liked Byron Scott back then. Now I know he is just a 6'4" tool.

 

I think the Bad Boys against the Lakers was also highly anticipated with the friendship of Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson being such a huge story. Isiah and the Pistons eliminated Boston finally and now his buddy stood in the way of his first ring. Add in the fight in Game 1 between the two and then the pregame kiss just added more intrigue.

 

The Warriors adding KD after blowing a 3-1 lead last year against the Cavs is a huge storyline. Can LeBron beat a super team that got more super? If LeBron wins where does he stand amongst the GOAT? Excellent storyline. Definitely one of the most anticipated Finals of my lifetime. I'm geeked and my money is on Cleveland.

I remember those games being must see TV when I was a kid. I'll always remember watching those games with my dad.

For me I'd say yes this is the most anticipated Finals ever. First time in NBA History the same teams have played eachother 3 years in a row in the Finals. Most of us have been waiting for this all season. I don't think this will be the last time we see these 2 play eachother in the Finals, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a CLE/GSW Finals for the next Finals or 2 after this one, they're both that dominate in the Playoffs.

The whole season was prelude to this. Yes, I'm really hyped about this Finals in a way I didn't expect. I don't follow the league like I did a few years ago, so that's part of it.

Third year in a row these two teams will meet in the Finals, and we stand at one ring a piece. Both teams dominating in the playoffs, neither team has really been challenged all that much.

 

So, simple question... Is this the most anticipated NBA Finals matchup ever? I say yes.
