Is anybody gonna talk about the game? Let me know when you want to get back to whats important. Start your own thread if you guys want but stop hijacking this one....

Point well taken Sandman. It did cross my mind that this would be more appropriate somewhere else but I thought others might benefit from the dichotomy, and in my opinion what we talked about is just as important as the game. Thanks for your patience.

My heart goes with Conner because they are my guys, but Dixie is playing consistently better while we seem to be stuck. Our offense has to take care of the ball and not force our defense to defend a short field. 6 balls should have been caught that were not along with 6 turnovers. Even so, I believe we needed to start passing more and was glad to see it. I was told we actually had more yardage than Campbell County last week. If the offence can get rid of those mistakes and the defense plays as well as they have been, I’ll go with my heart and take my Cougars in a close one. I've been watching your practices Conner, you can do it!

Go Cougars!!!!!

I think Dixie will win this game. I think fans, not just Conner fans, are getting broken legs jumping off of a bandwagon that was totally full for two straight undefeated seasons 18 months ago in Hebron. Wake up people, there are cycles and we happen to be in a down turn for the time being. That does not mean we give up on the kids, the coaches or each other! Now is the time to show your pride in any program and help the rebuilding process for the future and to help the seniors remember the support from the fans. The seniors last year went through a rough year and the win over Boone at Boone and the support they had from the fans made such an impression that the players talked about it and cheered the fans after the game.

People need to remember, you can make such a difference in someone's life and you may never know. Those are the things we will be judged on later in life. Cheer for your team, through thick or thin and that will help with a win in the real meaning of life!

Agreed. Enough about what someone sees as problems within the ranks at Conner. These are young men who work hard and don't need to hear this garbage. As to the game, I don't see where Conner will be able to get more than 7 points but I'm sure the Cougars will play mad after such a bad effort vs. Campbell. Should be an easy win for Dixie.

Good Lord... I posted my prediction near the top of the thread. That was it.

Since then,

I have had to explain/defend my prediction.

Affirm my loyalty.

Defend my manhood.

was accused of dividing a team.

was accused of being illiterate.

was accused of posting game details then removing comments.

eating sour grapes.

being a bad weatherman.

being negative.

bashing coaches.

bashing players.

setting a bad example.

jumping off the wagon.

Hijacking a thread, (which I am sorry about)

and let's see what else? No, I do NOT know where Jimmy Hoffa is. And NO I did not assist Lee Harvey Oswald. I did not report the light on at the Watergate Hotel. And as far as I know there was no money transfered to my account from the Enron scandal.

It is a good thing there is not a "penalty flag" for piling on in the forum rules or ya'll would be punting from the back of your own endzone.

As far as your thread...If C-O-N-N-E-R executes like they did at the CC game my original prediction stands Dixie 28 C-O-N-N-E-R 0

If they bring the "A" game and execute it will be a close one.

Here's the shocker for you "piler on-ers" I will be there "like I always am" cheering for C-O-N-N-E-R!!!

until the horn sounds just like I did last week at the 42-7 debacle.

How has the support been? I saw Conner play Holmes last year and the "support" for the Cougars was very weak.

I don't think the "home attendace crowds" have been too bad this year but we only have 4 home games this year. There was a decent crowd at Dearborn and the Fern Creek game was in Lousiville. Not very many traveled to that game. The CC game on Friday was low due to weather and not many showed up on Sunday for the re-do even though the weather was perfect. NFL and the middle of the last day of peoples weekends was probably the excuse. Last years home attendance was weaker than the year before, but the "fair weather" crowd was spoiled from the previous two years.

As for the game, I like Dixie by a few touchdowns. I really like where Spritzky has his team headed. The line is finally sustaining blocks. Maloney is running with heart. Lucas is getting a few more touches. I'd really like to see him get some more screen passes or quick slants as he can be dangerous in the open field. The play calling of more short passes is raising Bricking's confidence. He just needs to learn to not force the ball and to throw it away when under pressure. The changes on defense seemed to have helped too. However, it hurts to lose Neugent at the OLB spot. I'm still not too keen on Maloney at safety just because of his size.

Conner usually plays Dixie well. We seldom score more than 28 on them. I think the score will be 28-7, but it won't surprise me if it's a little closer. Offensively we still are not firing on all cylinders, though this may be the week that we put it all together. I'm looking for a good game and keeping our undefeated streak in our new stadium at home alive.

Another week of hard work at Dixie. They seem to be taking it one game at a time and taking each game seriously. The running game is finding its place and the lines seem to be holding much better. Bricking's receivers really need to make the catches when the ball hits them in the numbers and hold onto them. I pick Dixie in this one. GO DIXIE!

Dixie has a slow start in the first quarter, but then they will dominate the rest of the game to win easily....

Dixie is starting to play solid football and will continue to do so. The Colonels by 3 scores.

Must win for Conner if they have any remaining hopes of playoff glory. So, it might be a decent game for longer than we expect. Good luck to both teams.

Go Cougars! Keep fighting guys!
