President Trump put the FBI and James Comey in a pickle by revealing that Comey allegedly told him three times (once at dinner and twice on the phone according to President Trump) he wasn't being investigated.

 

Even if Comey told the President that, it doesn't really mean anything does it? He could tell him they aren't investigating him even if they really were.

Trump needs to fire many many more. I am all for it.

 

If Trump says Comey said that to him and said it for all us to hear, you can bet Comey told him that. No way he is lying to the public about that. Everyone can believe what they want, but by doing so you just show your bias.No sitting President is going to go public and lie like that when it can be confirmed so easily. If Comey lied to him about that, then even more reason to be fired.

I never once said Trump was the only responsible person in the room. I just said he needs to fire some more people who are crooks. You apparently think everyone is ok except for Trump. Remember I said Hillary needs jailed. I still think that. The whole DNC is corrupt to the core. They all need fired and anyone who is associated with them. They worked behind the scenes to basically work against Bernie who is one of their own and cheated to help Hillary. Yes but that doesn't mean that Trump is telling the truth. His track record hurts him. Or maybe Comey was lying to him. Why won't McCabe confirm or deny what was said instead of copping out by saying he doesn't know what Comey told Trump and also saying that the FBI won't confirm or deny if Trump is actually part of the investigation?

I tend to think like JJ on this issue, I think President Trump would be an absolute fool of epic proportions if he was lying about Comey telling him he wasn't under investigation. However, both of you bring up good points that we can't possibly know the answer to at this point.

During the campaign Trump praised Comey because Comey went on National TV twice and told everyone Clinton committed a bunch of felonies. Of course Trump is going to praise him. Fast forward, now that Trump is President he has unique insight to the process, among other things, and I don't see an issue with President Trump changing course.

 

And to be clear, I am not saying what President Trump did is foolish, I am saying it would be foolish of him to lie about Comey telling him three times he wasn't under investigation if it wasn't in fact the truth.

Looks like the White House just said that they're hopeful that his firing will put an end to the Russian investigation.

I guess in the broadest sense I might agree with you but I'm still genuinely perplexed. Without judging culpability, democratic leadership is completely tone deaf and Republican leadership is seemingly incompetent. There's quite a few on both sides of the aisle that should be in a different line of work.

 

Still I fail to see the equivalence of a corrupt DNC running a Democrat primary and a West Wing who can't get out of its own way. I just can't for the life of me understand how, when the Trump team gets wackier and wackier, many from your side of the aisle seem to double down and decide to hate Democrats more.
