April 25, 20179 yr Yeah, this isn't an isolated incident for me. It's just the way my mind works in my lifetime. I will never trust the system at all. I just pray that my loved ones never become a victim to it. I completely get that opinion, but I don't think this is one of those cases. It really wouldn't make any sense.

Agreed but not at any time in my lifetime has the corrupt system made any sense to me. I'll never be surprised by anything the system does whether it makes sense or not. It never makes sense anyways.
September 22, 20178 yr Reports are out indicating that after examining his brain, Hernandez had the most severe case of CTE doctors have ever seen in a player his age.
September 22, 20178 yr Reports are out indicating that after examining his brain, Hernandez had the most severe case of CTE doctors have ever seen in a player his age. Wow...that's pretty amazing and could explain his untimely end.
September 22, 20178 yr Wow...that's pretty amazing and could explain his untimely end. Could explain a plethora of his actions.
September 22, 20178 yr Wow...that's pretty amazing and could explain his untimely end. Could explain a plethora of his actions. Yes it could. Or it could not. The fact is if doctors can't diagnose it until after someone is dead. How do people really know what it causes? Zero idea if it had any effect in his actions in life. Cte has become this big thing but yet no one knows really anything about it. There may be people with CTE who never even played sports before. I think there is CTE in all sports, yet unless people study all those. No one truly knows what causes it. It may not be just a football thing at all. It really may have zero effect at all. All we know is doctors can say after a death yes he had CTE. However no idea on true symptoms of it. It's like someone who claim they can read peoples thoughts. When they say I can sense someone here has been through something dramatic in the last month. People in the audience say omg I went through something dramatic this month. This guy can cleary read my thoughts. With this CTE thing I feel like they find they have CTE, then say to the family has he acted different lately, been more angry, etc. Then they are like you know what yes they have been like that. So they just say hey those must be symptoms of CTE, when in reality zero idea if those actions were related to cte or not. I just feel like they can find a brain that doesn't have CTE. But then ask the same questions of have they acted differently lately, more outburst, etc. That a family member would be like you know what they did act differently lately, because someone now put that thought in their head. Even though the brain didn't have CTE at all. None of this probably made sense. Maybe I have CTE myself lol. I am not saying this isn't a serious issue cause it is. However This has started something that are freaking a lot of people out, when in reality we know nothing about it, or if it truly causes anything, or what all needs to happen to get it. It's this big scary thing but no one knows anything about it.

I understand the points you are making and can't refute them, just as you can't refute that there seems to be a high number of NFL suicides that have had CTE as a common factor. Maybe all football players have a level of CTE and it has no connection to their health or mental conditions later in life...but it could also be the driving factor to a lot of the issues players have had.

Yep, more research is needed. They need control groups also that have played other sports and no sports at all. They need control groups of people who have used drugs. Getting hit in the head can not be good for you, but who knows, long term effects of jogging could cause CTE or smoking/taking a large amount of drugs could also. This is your brain, this is your brain on drugs. I remember those commercials.
September 22, 20178 yr I would like to see former soccer players, wrestlers, boxers, et al studied for CTE. How many boxers have committed suicide?
September 26, 20178 yr Pretty topical... Rick WestheadVerified account @rwesthead Breaking: Boston University researchers say they have developed a method that may help diagnose CTE in living patients.
September 30, 20178 yr I'm no expert or even close on this subject but I find it hard to believe someone in his 20's had highest findings. This guy sold drugs, did he do them? Does that contribute? Also, these players are taking g lots of "helpers" to get through an NFL season. How does that play a role? I'll believe the studies after a lot more studies.
