I'll give you my honest opinion. I don't think Trump gives a damn about provoking this nut. In fact, I think Trump relishes the thought of provoking people. I think he wants to provoke Kim. It's fun for him. Trump loves chaos...everyday. If there isn't chaos surrounding him, he says or does something to create it. Those who've known him for years says this is not new for Trump. It's who he is, apparently.

Lots of testosterone flowing around here in this thread.

Bombs away. :)

What has Trump done to provoke North Korea. These morons have done the same thing for decades. It's a third world country that could be wiped out by lunch tomorrow.

We don't do it because we are the United States and we strive to be better. But lets not create some false narrative that Trump created the North Korea problem.

If your concern is talking tough to China , many people like me have bee waiting for it. China manipulates the global economy and needs to be put in their place. One of the main reasons I liker Romney in 2012 is because he spoke the truth on China.

Let them try us.

Like the great Omar said, "You come at the king, you best not miss."

I believe we are still fighting wars from the last republican president. Even after he declared victory.

We have to do what we must to protect ourselves and our allies, but I'm going to be furious if we get dragged into a conflict and have to put our citizens and our soldiers at risk because that petulant little butterball got bored and wanted to play at war.

I feel this could be taken care of without a war. I think China would agree that he needs to be gone. I think the North Korean people would like to eat and have nice stuff. Get rid of butter ball and I really think most would cheer. Drop a missile on his head. Let China in and say this is for the betterment of the world. Heck let China take him out. Only blood thats shed is his. He has killed to many himself or ordered executions of even his closest family members. He sure dont care to kill Americans so that mentality alone needs to be done with. I think we all can agree on that at least.

I always worry when I can't view one of the primary actors in a situation like this as a rational actor. I'm genuinely concerned that he has no ability to understand his own limitations due to the way he's been allowed to live his life to this point. Makes trying to calculate the next move very difficult.

Kim will be assassinated within a year by one of his own people

If he knows this he is more dangerous than ever.

There are no circumstances where I would support sending US troops north of the 38th parallel, again. The climate and terrain of the DPRK does not accommodate conventional warfare at all. We learned that before the current ceasefire took affect. It also makes destroying them, even with nukes, an extremely difficult task.

You have said this twice, now, in this thread. Under what information are you forming that opinion?

I posted on Facebook or maybe on here that trump would have the USA in three new wars by his first year in office.

Possible as he cleans up the result of 8 years of empty threats!

He may be provocative, but he's also quite intelligent; and won't start anything, but may reserve the right to "hit back"?
