funny that it is the same thing every year. No one is ever better than SK. They beat themselves or it's the refs fault. Same story different year!!!! Sour grapes, spilt milk... suck it up. Your team lost to a better team!

 

So who is the better team keepingitreal? According to all out there FC is a great team but sk took the w by 24 earlier in the year. So were we the better team then, or did FC just have a bad game? Again, I attended both games and FC played no different in either game. So logic would tell you a team doesn't improve 26 points in a few games.....it usually means one team played bad and failed to execute.

Although I will say this, officials tend to have the mentality .... if it looks like a foul, it is a foul. Niece is a gamer and watching her throughout the year, I can tell you this, 99 % of the fouls called on her got no reaction from her.

Two of her fouls last night prompted a " how did I foul her? " response. For those of you who want to say Franklin County beat SK....you are wrong! Sk beat themselves last night. Poor weak side rebounding, too many unforced turnovers, defensive breakdowns, and flat out poor execution. They had a horrible game at a horrible time.

I realize some will cry sour grapes, and you're free to have your opinion, Niece called for ticky tacky stuff,but I witnessed Meier get absolutely mugged on several rebounds with no call...I also witnessed many many illegal/ moving screens by FC with no call, one of which the screener actually followed the defender for a couple steps, maintaining her screen position, right in front of the official....with no call, as the entire SK fan section was trying to help him make the call. I also watched FC players flat out walk several times , with no call. Saw Miles extend her forearm into Harney, knocking her to the ground, and blocking foul called on Harney. On top of that Miles got up and clapped her hands toward Harney who was still on the ground in disbelief of call. Taunting. ....automatic technical? I don't know the exact rule...but I thought officials should. Must be another one of those "judgement calls''.

Not gonna say one or two issues decided the game, but add them up and points coming after these missed calls didn't help the already struggling sk team.

Sk also received no help at all from Harmeyer. Her offensive contribution was non existent. I realize everyone will say ''she hardly played, no wonder she didn't score''. Well, here's a news flash, when she did play....her defensive effort ...wait for it, ....was non existent! Hope she learns that good defense will get you more playing time than just shooting threes. Imo, she has a lot of work to do . Could go on and on but won't bore you all any more.

 

I saw this one clearly, Princess Stewart even stuck her knee out when the defender went past.....right in front of the official, I thought for sure a foul was going to get called. However, SK had more than enough opportunities, but failed to capitalize.

I would agree to that long before I agree to fc beat any of those teams! And to rcc9, one more thing. I never mentioned one time about the hhs/ sk game in feb. Don't know why you said you don't understand why I keep bringing that up???????

But since you brought it up I would be remiss if I didn't make a comment on that thread. You stated and I quote....'' if SK doesn't take advantage of hhs with Meier, a loss to hhs would be sk's own fault! So all today you have done nothing but try to tell me losses are because the other team beat you....and you really can't blame a loss on how badly you played but rather how much better the other team is. But in Feb. if SK would have lost to hhs, it would have been our own fault??? So then, losing could be ones own fault, but now it can't be???? I'm sure you have an explanation.

I brought up HHS because you kept bringing up the Holmes/FC game like that shouldn't be happening. So I was showing you that FC is ranked higher than Holmes and I say Holmes isn't the Holmes from the last couple years. So I'm saying HHS beat Holmes. SK killed HHS and FC Beat SK. Bringing up FC beating Holmes badly is not a surprise to me! Are you caught up now?

 

Oh I know, FC is in the finals for the second year in a row, but they didn't beat SK and we are crazy to think they did!

 

Oh yea! And for my lil buddy. HHS beat FC in a scrimmage this year!! Ha ha ha! See how silly that sounds!

Seems to me from a impartial observer that Simon Kenton has to many coaches talking at the same time. Kids seemed confused both games I watched this year. Also helps to play your best 5 players. Usually works out better for all involved. From where I sit if that had happened they would be playing tomorrow. But what does a old person like me know. Game has passed me by.

Well, I'm not far behind you in age I guess. But I'm confused on the coaching comment. Their coaches have impeccable resume's and if the kids don't understand their system by now then they have some challenges. For all the years I've watched the program they haven't changed a lot up so I find it hard to believe they don't know what is expected

Helps if you play the best 5 players? What changes do you make? One kid sitting on the bench was lost all night defensively and had to go the bench and they also rotated 8 - 10 deep. I think that gave everyone to make an impact and they had the ones playing the best in the end. Sometimes you have to make matchup changes. Needed a guard to chace their little guard letting the air out of the ball. Your other two guards def needed in the game.

I do sometimes wonder how 3 officials do miss blatant calls Their were multiple illegal screens in the open floor and blatant walks created by traps that went uncalled. I always wonder if they are afraid to make that call or what. I just can't believe they don't see it I also don't understand the call at the end.

I wasn't in a great position but looked like a lot of ball. To me if you can't call the obvious moving screens then that call shouldn't be made and let it be decided in OT

Never said officials lost game for sk. Actually said some bad calls aggravated an already struggling sk. However , 2 or 3 bad calls in a close game could be the difference. I did say however sk beat themselves which has got me caught up in a debate because of my blatent and total disrespect for fc's program.... according to some. Fact is , I never once blamed officiating or anything or anybody as the reason for Sk's loss. I blamed Sk's lack of execution. Not you lawnboy, but others on this site like to twist what is said to make fodder in a skewed attempt to get others to believe they are coaching/sports geniuses. Just stating facts .....sk beat themselves ,FC not the better team .....bad calls could have made a difference in such a tight game.

My question is how does 3 officals that bad get in the state finals tournament.if that is the best wow. I have seen better officals at sports of all sorts.

SK had a great year. I picked them to the finals. Don't let a person drag SKs season down because they have nothing else to do. Great year SK!

I love our kids and I love our coaches. I hate seeing our fan base eat each other up over a disappointing loss. You just have to realize that the path to success often goes through failure. SK has kids that are still learning to perform on the big stage. The coaching staff scheduled the season to try and prepare the kids for this tournament, but it just was not meant to be. Tournament experienced teams know how to leverage the incompetence of the officiating. Our program is not there yet. Please refrain from bashing kids or coaches.

All I can say is wow...never thought I would see someone come on here and attempt to humiliate a 17 yr old kid by calling them out by name on their ability or performance, especially didn't expect it from someone who claims to be a supporter of team the kid plays for. I hope you're proud of yourself. (I'll toss you into this too Watchmen). You both claim to be great supporters of SK. Very adult like to run Harmeyer through the mud, and your timing is impeccable, as she is already hurting about the outcome this past weekend. You say these things all the while claiming to be supporters of the team she plays for. But you know I don't remember either of you posting a congratulation to her for scoring her 1000th Varsity point this season as a junior, scoring 7 3's once last season and twice this season, having a monster tournament at Motgomery Co. over the holidays, being the leading scorer during the regional tourney run, being named to the All 8th region team. I don't remember one time you gave her any love, you know being the staunch supporters you both are of the program. But your are right on que to trash her given the chance. Do I have daddy goggles on? In this case, yes I do..most everyone on here knows who I am and could care less. Because you see I don't have to hide behind a username. I don't have any hidden agendas. I don't trash young athletes and then duck behind a cloak of anonymity. As her parent I'm the first to admit Shelby needs to work on her defense. But I really don't understand what satisfaction you gain by trying to humiliate a kid, whether it's mine or anyone else's. At first I really thought I'd like to find out both of your identities, but I'm sure that would probably hurt more than not knowing who you are because you both at some point have probably shook my hand and told me what good player my daughter is. I guess we will see if others feel the same way you do this fall on signing day.
