March 9, 20179 yr Sorry to see Barbara Martin retire after an outstanding career in education. Should have retired as Ludlow Superintendent but the BOE at the time went in a different direction. A decision that they are still paying the price for in Ludlow. Congratulations Mrs Martin on a job well done.

She was an excellent teacher (one of the best I've had including undergrad and graduate school) and had myself and my classmates more than prepared for college.

March 9, 20179 yr Is this something that teachers in KY should be worried about? No. There is no current legislation that affects the rolling over of sick days or being paid for sick days at retirement.
March 9, 20179 yr Is this something that teachers in KY should be worried about? Yes if you are nearing retirement age or could retire, pay close attention to Retired teacher organization info, KTRS info, etc. Lots can be hidden in legislation. The organizations will know.
March 9, 20179 yr These three ladies are very bright. Hard to believe they don't know something. What is unusual are the dates or retirement March 1st and April 1st. The vast majority retire June 30th. I would believe it has to do with sick day pay stuff. That is speculation only.
