frankdracman23 Posted March 6, 2017 Author Share Posted March 6, 2017 From Youngstown State: • Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich. and the game will be broadcast on 570- AM WKBN, and ESPNU. • This is the 14th meeting between Youngstown State and Northern Kentucky in a series that dates back to 1976. • The Penguins and Norse split the season series with each winning on their own home court. • NKU won, 83-70, on Jan. 5 in Highland Heights while YSU won, 81-77, on Feb. 18, at the Beeghly Center. • The Penguins advanced to the semifi nals with after an 81-80 win over top-seeded Oakland on March 4. • Senior Jorden Kaufman’s layup as time expired lifted the Penguins to the win. • Junior Cameron Morse scored a game-high 34 points on 12-of-28 shooting with fi ve assists. • Kaufman scored a career-high with 22 points and posted his seventh career double-double with 10 rebounds. • Head Coach Jerry Slocum has 723 career wins and became the 38th head coach in NCAA history to reach 700 wins. • He ranks 35th on that list and is ninth on the active Division I coaches list. • Junior Cameron Morse now ranks 16th alltime with 1,393 career points. • His 683 points this year rank third on the single- season list and the most in YSU’s Division I era.
