Steiner has been overheard saying that he wants only gym rats on his teams and that he really has no use for 2 or 3 sport athletes. That has shown. He loses a lot of kids to football and baseball every year. That is why he has freshman and 8th graders playing. It is absolutely a joke that a school the size of SK can't field an experienced basketball team. All other sports at SK are doing well and winning. Boys basketball is the only down sport. Maybe it's time for a change.

Are you sure the bolded is correct?

Fair statement, IMO. Boys basketball hasn't lived up to the expectations of the community over the past years.

Or, WV is better than everyone thinks.

Brace yourself for the school size retort. And whatever you do, for your own safety, don't mention the All-A.

Schools that have good football teams usually have good baseball teams.

And schools that are good at football and baseball are usually bad at basketball. Because winter is weightlifting time for the other sports.

So, is it fair to say that they could be winning, and doing well.... just not living up to the expectations of the community over the past years.

I ask, because I see these two as different measuring sticks.

Did Austin Lay who played very well attend Dixie as a freshmen . Someone last night told me Cooper at the game but I know that's not true because I been going to cooper games forever and never saw him there .

Believe Lay was at Cov Cath his freshmen year?

We could see two Public All A schools in the championship of this district that has 2 schools with close to 1500 kids, would have to think that would be the first time this district has seen that if so.

Name another sport that has not done well, and when I say well I mean relative to the expectations at SK, over the last 5-10 years.

Not even close. Just my opinion.

Totally agree. WV is a very nice team and they're young too and this region is not close to being the worst.
