I said in another thread tonight they are the best team up here. They should WALK through the 8th. But then we'll see what they are made of when it's crunch time and teams know what you have and are making game plans to stop you. And that's not a knock. I hope they make a run! And I really think they can! I love to see the local kids do well...even if a fan or two is constantly trying to ruin it for the majority! LOL!

They are on the tough side of the bracket aren't they? Honestly, I haven't really looked so I'm not sure of the matchups other than I know they are on the loaded side.

First game I've seen in awhile and have to say the girls were rolling.

 

Footballforever, I don't think the sk girls have the same assessment as you do as many of them are friends with the highlands girls. Regardless, show a little respect and act like you have been there before

 

This team does have its weaknesses just like any other team out there. What I saw was a team that improved defensively and has things going in the right direction at the right time. I think they can play anyone San king as they are solid in defense.

 

Highlands, USB a solid team and sk caught them on a bad night when they weren't having a good night. I expect both teams to do well in their respective regions

Niece had an easy 26 points. Her play has really advanced since the last time I saw her play. The other kid that was rather impressive was the Jones girl. Am I correct that her sister played at Ryle?

 

Stowers did a very nice job using his entire bench which helps keep his team fresh.

 

A few Highlands girls had that deer in the headlights look, but certainly something to learn from it. Depth is an issue for the Birds and if Martin and Barth are not scoring, they are going to struggle mightily.

Fun to make predictions and all.....but remember this is high school basketball and more specifically.....girls high school basketball. SK was 20 points better than everyone in the 8th last year, right? I think they win the region in a walkover this year.....but also thought that last year as well.

No, Maggie Jones' sisters all played at Simon Kenton. Maggie is a young freshman (won't turn 15 until the summer) and is the real deal ... she is stuck a little bit in the shadow of some really good older players at SK, but her ceiling may be the highest on that team IMO.

It is also very unpredictable how high school players will respond to playing on a collegian sized court and arena. I thought SK had deer in headlights attitude two years ago.
