What other ideas does everyone think we really need to get behind as a nation to help all people. Below was his quote: "National Healthcare is one of those socialist ideas we need to get behind, Jesse. The expense is one of the reasons people don't enter the workforce. Free healthcare or now get a job and have to pay for worse coverage. The working man is the loser here. Living wage is coming unless Trump bans robots."

Actually I said healthcare :lol2:, but sure when robots do most everything for us from cooking our burgers to basically all manufacturing there will be millions out of work. What will people do for money?

What will people do for money? I was having a similar conversation with someone today. The middle class is shrinking and a big reason is those jobs that pay well for the skilled worker continue to go away. It is a real challenge for the future. How do we get more young people to pursue skilled training and post high school education of some sort so they can earn that middle class wage?

What can be done to make it affordable again? Step one is to cut all the regulation and compliance out of it. Doubt it will happen. But that is where all the money is spent anymore.

What can be done to make it affordable again? Thank you! This is where I'm at. This is what I wanted when Obama talked about healthcare reform, but I knew that wasn't what we'd get. Pharmaceuticals and medical device companies are a huge part of the problem IMO. Somehow, the cost of these have to be reined in. There also needs to be more competition with hospitals. If I get an MRI at the hospital or facility associated with them, my out of pocket is around $1500 to $1700. I can go across the river to a private company and get the same thing and it includes everything the hospitals do for $395 because they don't have the excessive operating or overhead costs like most large hospitals or outpatient diagnostic centers do. We need more of this.
