Stop expecting insurance to cover every time you go to the doctor. You don't expect your auto insurance to cover oil changes. If doctors offices weren't forced to file every charge with an insurance company the overhead goes down and so do costs.

 

Let each person person purchase a plan that fits their need. As an astute collegue here stated, one size doesn't fit all.

 

Allow cross state purchasing of insurance.

 

That's an idea I can get behind.
