I hate wanderers. I won't go shopping with one.

I typically just roll down my window and ask for a #1 with a large Coke...

The wife will go about once every two weeks, and I'll occasionally stop on my way home for more fruit, eggs, etc.

I travel for work quite often, so when I'm at home I like to eat at home.

Anyone use the online shopping available at Kroger? If you aren't familiar with it, you go online and shop on their website and select all of the items you want. You select an approximate pick up time for the next day and leave it all to them. Drive up to special parking area in the parking lot, use phone located there to let the store know you are ready and they bring everything out and load it in your car and you pay then. I think there is a $4 surcharge for the service.

I usually have a list. Wanderers are the worst to go shopping with!

My personal peeves are that people should walk down the right side of the aisles, like they do on the sidewalk. Hate people who hog the middle or park themselves on the left.

 

Also, those kids with the mini carts are NOT cute.

When I go 2-3 times a week we save $$$ and eat better. When I get busy and slack and Mrs C1 goes she spends way too much and we have a tendency to waste some.

First 3 times are free, I think; then the $4 kicks in after that.

I go when needed, usually for only a few things. Our schedule makes it so we don't know when we will be home or when or what we will eat.

Just about every day on my way home from work. My days of planning are over. I just get what ever MrsC and I are hungry for.

And you forgot to mention the oblivious ones on cell phones blocking the aisle.

Sadly, I don't get to cook much at home because of busy schedule, and I love to cook. Usually go about every 3 weeks to restock on fruit, fruit juices, milk, cold cuts, bread, tortillas, yogurt, granola, some snack foods (chips last about 3 days here if I'm lucky, so I hate buying them) and certain freezer items, and canned soup.

 

If there's a good meat sale going on, I'll grab some things that I can take over to my buddy's house a block and change away as I have a standing invite for dinner. I try not to abuse that invite too much and only go one day during the week, but on weekends we usually BBQ something. We'll regularly team up and go stock his freezer when there are big meat sales at Kroger or our local butcher shop, or when they have the big-big sales at Country Mart up in Taylorsville.

 

I also go out of my way to restock their canned goods storage whenever I visit my folks, as I always come back with bunches of green beans, frozen corn, homemade salsa, tomatoes and tomato juice. I just stop at his place when I get back to town and drop off all the goodies as I know it will mostly just sit on my shelves indefinitely.

 

I just wish I could get them on using real butter instead of that other stuff. I often try to leave a stick of butter over there.

Never tried it. Wife likes to pick out her own fruits and veggies. Wouldn't work for us.
