January 14, 20179 yr Final. Offense is really good our defense is going to have to get a lot better. A good strategy to use on us now would to run the shot clock down and then just drive it to the basket especially on the road where home teams get a kinder whistle.
January 14, 20179 yr I was disappointed on the U.K. defensive side again, this team to be special has to play better defense ....a lot better than today. Free throw shooting was also horrible at only 47 %. I was really looking for the Cats to come out and blow the tanning bed guy's team off the floor early and keep pounding them throughout the game. U.K., to me anyway didn't start really having fun and playing U.K. basketball, proving to the Tigers that they didn't belong in the same building with them until around 5 to 7 min. left. When Malik made that move and dunked on them ..the party started. Monk w/ 24, Bam w/15 I believe led the way and it was another pretty balanced scoring game. Another Conference win, 15-2 / 5-0 and on to Starkville on Tuesday night.
January 14, 20179 yr Author We will need to pick up our defensive game on the road at Miss. State they are not bad.
January 14, 20179 yr Mississippi State has lost to UCF. Lehigh, ETSU and Alabama. They aren't exactly world beaters.
January 15, 20179 yr Author Mississippi State has lost to UCF. Lehigh, ETSU and Alabama. They aren't exactly world beaters. They are probably better than Auburn who was within 6 of us with 7 minutes to play at home and it's on the road.
January 15, 20179 yr They are probably better than Auburn who was within 6 of us with 7 minutes to play at home and it's on the road. Any conference road win is a good win but it would be the upset of the year if MSU beat Kentucky.
January 15, 20179 yr Less Willis more Gabriel. He's going to continue to get better. Today Willis only got 9 minutes. It's Gabriel's to win.
January 15, 20179 yr I think Willis gets worse on defense by the possession. Glad to see Mulder become a solid contributor.
January 15, 20179 yr Gabriel was outstanding today. Willis just has no ability on the defensive end. It's 5-4 when he's out there.
January 15, 20179 yr Anybody have any details about the game. I was busy watching the Baylor / Kansas St. game.
January 16, 20179 yr I will say this Willis will end up being key in how far this team goes. Auburn was a bad match up because Auburn also was going to run. That type of game favors Gabriel. When we face teams who will try to slow it down on us in the tournament like UL did, we will need Willis.
