I know Augusta's is acurate but I Demings is a rough estimate it is around 420-490. I could be wrong. It is somewhere around 450 that is my best mark

Are you one of those people who think that everyone who plays should get a trophy???

What about the players that are cut from the bigger schools that could play at those smaller schools??? Should they be crying foul too?

I personally think all Districts should be seeded and that you should play everyone in your district twice during the regular season. Also its getting a bit pathetic with this small school, big school bickering thats been going on on a number of threads the past few weeks. How soon people forget...2000, St. Patrick wins the District over Mason Co. 2002, Augusta beat a 4A school (Montgomery Co.) in a regular season game. 2004 Augusta beats a "big" school Harrison Co. in a regular season game. I'm getting sick of hearing, small schools can't win...but I'm also getting sick of hearing, Oh we were only down 1 at halftime...Win and then you'll get your respect. But it won't last for long.

The program that is the top dog in the district won't give a hoot if the districts are seeded or not.

 

The teams that are solidly second best are the teams that always whine about not seeding the district, because they don't like the 1-in-3 odds of drawing the number 1. Case in point - Harrison County when Pendleton had their run the last three years.

 

The underdogs of course don't want seeding; and how can you blame them? Remember, many of these small schools don't have football teams, so a shot at the regional tournament is literally the most exciting thing from a sports standpoint that happens there (unless you're Deming and have a champion-class swimmer like Amanda Miller; but we all know that's not going to get folks excited like a trip to the Fieldhouse in the 10th). Getting to the 10th is a financial shot in the arm for a small school; and their athletic departments would be nuts to seed their districts.

 

Until there is a clear division in the district between the top two teams and the bottom two teams, don't expect anything other than a 3-1 vote against seeding the district.

I believe Pendleton County will be the class of the district and there shouldn't be much of a change or hangover with the staff and their style. Simms had been w/Biggs for awhile and he knows these kids very well.

 

I believe Deming will continue to make strides and have very solid season as long as the new staff and the players can mesh like they need to. Going from an assistant to the head man is a big challenge and means a lot more responsibilty, but I feel Coach Johnson can handle it.

Talent and size will be a different story. Losing Tyler Mains is a bigger loss than Elliott. An excellent point guard is a coach's best friend.

Absolutely correct on you're statement.If you can't get the ball up the floor,it does't matter what you have under the goal.That's what I have said all along about Mains.A lot of people gave him a hard time{especially early in his varsity career}about throwing the ball away.I said its a tough job these days with the defense of some players and that will probably be missed more than anything this year.I sure hope not though.:thumb:

Size does not matter, it is how you handle the ball. A small school can beat a big school, just like vice-versa.

I read in Harrison Co. paper that Talbott is not playing this year.If that is the case then the Breds will be a lot weaker than originally thought.He is one of their best players returning.What is his problem this year?

I think you took the wrong off ramp on your thinking here, in your previous posts you seem to say Deming, Augusta, didn't deserve to go to the region like saying last year the "Championship game was played last night, but they'll get the trophy tonight" is what I implying big school thinking.

I agree that Harrison will miss Talbott on the court. I don't see Harrison overtaking Pendleton.
