1) Pendleton County...last years champion.

2) Harrison County....competitive as always.

3) Deming.....new coach new attitude.

4) Nicholas County....new coach, same ole problems.

I think it will be a close race between PC and HC.

I would like to see Jamie do well with the Devils just not against PC.

IT'll be interesting to see how the boys will respond, I've seen them paly this summer against Paris and they looked pretty good.

That's why I rated them First.

I believe Pendleton County will be the class of the district and there shouldn't be much of a change or hangover with the staff and their style. Simms had been w/Biggs for awhile and he knows these kids very well.

 

I believe Deming will continue to make strides and have very solid season as long as the new staff and the players can mesh like they need to. Going from an assistant to the head man is a big challenge and means a lot more responsibilty, but I feel Coach Johnson can handle it.

Making strides is OK but the fans here in Mt. Olivet expect a winner this season, if it seems far fetched that they may actually be a better team than last year, that's something every fan expects of their alma mater, 3 starters are back from last year, T. Massey, B. Graves(Stress Fracture Last Year), Nathen Mitchell, who started when Graves was injured, two spots left on the starting 5, could be interesting who Coach Johnson decides to put in there.

What did Harrison lose from last year? Despite the heavy losses to graduation, PC would seem to be hard to beat in this weak district. Can't imagine anyone other than Harrison challenging them??

What's the difference man? You have to play the games to advance on to the the region no matter who it is you have to play.:confused:

I like that Deming gave Johnson the job, he deserved it and it should translate into a pretty easy transition for the kids and program.

 

However, Johnson was an assistant for only one season and now has been handed the reigns to the program and that is a huge step and a great deal of responsibilty. Being completly in charge and the Main Man and leading the staff is far different then being a part of the staff and contributing. I think Johnson can handle it, but that has to be part of the equation.

Harrison County lost Adam Cunningham, Cory Britt and the Custard kid(I can't remember his first name). They return a pretty good player in Julius Talbott.

 

Pendleton County lost Tyler Mains, Pat Elliott, Jon Elrod, Terry Davis, Jeff Gibson and Dustin Bishop. Of the top seven off of last year's team they only return senior Kane Belcher.

 

The 38th district is not seeded so anything could happen come tournament time.
