Army All-American Bowl KY Nominees

Featured Replies

I agree cville, Clark is a very good talent and imo he is overlooked by most of the state as well. Is Clark a top 5 back in the nation, I don't think so but a top 5 back in KY. he certainly is plus as you said he is as good of a d-back imo as he is a running back. The kid can flat out play football.

I agree that Clark is a top 5 back in Ky, his performance in last year's 2A title game was awesome. The point I was trying to make is that the RBs who play in this game will be the top ranked in the whole nation.

I do not doubt Clark is a very good High School football player. And I don't doubt there are a few D-1 schools looking at him. But if you look at any of the main recruiting web sites none of them have him on their lists as a top Kentucky recruit at any position. Which tells me that he is not a legit high level D-1 player and you have to be to get a nomination to play in this game.

Clark is a good back and he'll play somewhere at the next level, but lets not get carried away. Running Backs like Clark are a dime a dozen in places like Florida and Georgia. I seriously doubt Vic Anderson or Doug Beaumont will even play on this team.

Which ones?

They have been mentioned in other post by Blue Blazer so I will leave that answere to some that know the exact ones. I do know that he has received several as I have had conversation with his father. It is not just hearsay, if that is what you are asking!!

The only one out of those five that even has a chance to be selected in that game is Victor Anderson and he more than likely will not even be invited. You have to be the best of the best in the COUNTRY not the just the state of KY.

I don't think that you can place all your marbles on the recruiting web-sites. I understand how big of a role they play as to who goes where but a lot of good football players go unnoticed by these so called experts. Clark has the interest of D-1 coaches so I think he is considered a legit D-1 prospect. I also think as others have stated that the nomination of some of the players selected is based on a little inside help. I am not knocking the players listed, theyare deserving and all are great players. I just feel that Clark has the football talent to be included in this group.

I'm sure it's not hearsay.

Just anxious to see what "top notch D-1 programs" are recruiting him.

Ky will be lucky to have one of them selected.

THEY do not decide who gets offers. I would think that most recruiters have enough sense to evaluate on their own - through film and in-person - visits without having to rely on an analyst's opinion.

Politics???? You think that's why these boys have been getting so much NATIONAL attention? Hard work and going out and competing might be a better answer.

I don't know anything about Clark, however these recruiting web sites can only rank or "star" them if and only if the player goes to these "combines."

Therefore a player could be very good and getting a lot of D1 attention but if the player did not go to these "combines" then they are not listed on these "main recruiting web sites"

These web sites are a good base, but nothing more than that. All depends if a player goes to the combine. :walk:

The top talents almost always do go to the combines. That's why the websites are better then you are giving them credit for.

Just remember, getting attention from D-1 progams is not getting actively recruited and getting scholarship offers from them. Can't tell you how many kids have gotten "letters" from good schools and tell everyone they know how such and such or so and so are recruiting them. We will know on signing day.

Arkansas, and Illinois and University of Cincinnati! WVU has also been to watch him! not to mention EKU, Dayton, Akron, Kent!

Exactly and that isn't a knock on the guys mentioned. Micah Johnson played in this game last season and was rated as the #1 inside linebacker or defensive end in the NATION. I think Brohm played in it as well and he was one of the top 5 QB's in the NATION that year. You don't get into this game by being just a really really good high school player, you have to be a big time prospect. One of the main attractions of this game is when players choose their college on Live TV. Sorry to say there are no EKU's or Dayton's in the mix. Most of these players will be impact freshman at a school like LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, etc.. All of the KY mentioned will be great contributors in college and even in the KY/TN all-star game but let's be a little more realistic here.

Go to search and look up post by Blue Blazer. That should give you your info.

I never siad politics!!! If you would have read instead in spinning you have saw that I stated inside help. You can call it politics if you like but a little talk goes a long way in getting the help and I am sure some got the help they needed. There is nothing wroing with that. I also stated that all the mentioned players were very deserving and I never stated otherwise!!!! My reference to the analyst's was exactly my point as you have stated, they do not always have all the players deserving of some recognition on their list. That is why Clark is getting looks from D-1 schools. It is a long way until season ends so I will wait and see where he ends up. Whether it is D-1 or NAIA it is great that he gets to play on the next level and get a college education.
