The claim that Mexico would pay for it was downright comical--right up there with Obama's "deficits are unpatriotic" assertion. I think Trump will be just like every other President when it comes to things like this (promising one thing and doing another). Agreed and agreed.
January 7, 20179 yr At times it seems 'the wall' is just an easy way to say - we will enforce immigation laws. But at same time the metaphor may work in a practicle manner. If the illegals from lower Central America believe there may really be a wall when to the border they may not start the dangerious trek through Mexico. Maybe.
January 7, 20179 yr The US annually gives millions of dollars to Mexico. I guess we could withhold all or a portion of that money and apply it towards building the wall in which case Mexico would be paying for the wall albeit indirectly.

If this had been one of their ideas it would be considered Genius. However I am with you. For the life of me I cannot figure out why anyone would not want secure borders and the laws enforced.

January 7, 20179 yr Understandable. Stuff like this is what I am talking about cutting out along with the pork projects from both sides. Use that money to build it instead of arming our enemys and paying for stupid stuff that gets added to bills.

We have a financial priority problem. I have always believed that you take care of home first. We don't. Not a dime should leave these borders until we get us right, not a dime.
