Georgia Tech 33 Kentucky 18

Featured Replies

Hats off to GT without their top back they dominated. Paul Johnson worked Stoops. Kicking the refs lockeroom door at the half, come on man.

Tech minus the key players still showed that they had more overall talent. The Cats showed some good things and it does appear, that they are heading in the right direction.

Georgia Tech wasn't more talented. Let's not get that twisted.

It is confusing as to why UK was never really in it.

1) Fumble return for TD. 3rd and 2; decide to sprint out. Live in the "wildcat", two downs to get two yards and sprint out (hindsight always 20/20 though).

2) Three timeouts left, almost four minutes to go and they pooch kick it. I don't know if Stoops was griping bc he was wanting the kid to onside it or kick it out of the back of the endzone (which is what they should have done, so I'm hoping this was his gripe).

3) They bring the corner on a blitz or hard cloud force, with nobody rolling over the top.

Other than getting physically outplayed up front; those three things there obviously didn't help.

Great year for the Cats though. I'm ok with this loss; largely in part that 1) GA Tech and the academies are my favorites to watch because of the flexbone and 2) Many U.K. Fans are "too good" for that style of play..for reasons unbeknownst to me (had Paul Johnson had the trouble that Stoops had up to earlier in the year; he'd have already been fired).

Bright things ahead for UK, though.

Why that style of play isn't more popular, I have no idea (well, yes I do. We all know why. Not cool enough)...but, I'm dang proud to be in that small-shunned minority that thinks it's fun as hell to watch.

Kentucky's lack of a defensive line was apparent and is the number 1 priority for next season.

I saw 2 different helmet-to-helmet hits by GT, but no flags/ejections called.

A QB that can actually throw the ball would be helpful.

I hope Barker comes back healthy next year. Johnson is not the answer.

Harry Doyle said it all. The pooch kick was suppose to be deep. The kicker was confused by the hand signals coming from the sideline.

Agreed! We still don't know what Barker could do behind a strong rushing attack. With Barker they tried to be a passing team. When he got hurt they switched to focusing on the run. If they continue to focus on the run game, I think Barker could do more with it than Johnson.

You don't want a QB controversy in the locker room, but there has to be a competition.

As expected Boom going pro.

He knew that in August.
