What does this tell us the Bengals think about the Bengals?

Featured Replies

Lots of CFL players that worked out for the Bengals today. They tried out WR Darvin Adams, DE Alex Bazzie, LB Frank Beltre, WR Bryan Burnham, LB Deon Lacey, DE Cleyon Laing, WR Derel Walker and DB Mitchell White. They were conducting a lengthy tryout period after practice on Thursday.

3 WRs, 2 DEs, 2 LBs, and 1 DB

It tells us they are looking to do what NFL teams do in the off season, and that is to sign players to their off season roster. I believe they can have up to 90 players on their off season roster. So the idea is to figure out who to bring in.

Not much to see here Guru.

Standard procedure, I think. Just getting to so it artier due to being out of it. CFL seems to have only skill positions and LB types that make it in the NFL. If one of these guys sticks and helps in a season or two, then suer. I wouldn't hold my breath.

The O-line and D-lin size make them not NFL caliber. I would bet the DE's are being looked at as LB's.

Considering they just put a third of the starters on IR this week they just be filling up the roster. Sign the practice squad guys to the main roster, refill the practice squad.

A former CFL Offensive lineman is on the Giants roster this year.

Tells me that they know where their weaknesses are.

I am sure there are outliers, but majority are skill players. In general they just are not big enough.

I wonder if anyone told them to run out to the 55 yard line.

It is really only skill players that can potentially make a transfer to the NFL anyways. If you're big and fast enough as a lineman you are already on a roster somewhere.

Does it tell us that they really do have a scouting and personnel department and are looking to improve their team?

Bet several got lost looking for it.
