Russell 96 Bracken County 68

Featured Replies

Looks like to me that offence isn't the problem.

So there defense is the problem?

First time I've seen Bracken struggle with defense this bad all year. Russell just got so many open looks. Just wasn't the same defensive intensity that was in the Boyd Co game.

They gave up 96 pts in two of the games in the AIT, so you tell me.

.

For the year he's now at .89. He's a volume scorer. I'd have to look at other volume scorers (vs say the two kids at CCH who both are at about 1.2 to 1.3) to see what volume scorers points per shot attempt is.

2 other "volume" scorers:

Mason Blair 1.16

Dontae Allen 1.10

I'm just asking I was hoping you could tell me because I looked at stats from there winning games and it's way more balanced scoring then there losing ones. but it must be the defense!

Quickly looking the 5 wins were 68pt average vs 59pt average and of the 7 losses the average was 61pts vs 78pts. Bracken will not beat very many teams if they let them score in the 70's or better.

In the losses how much over or under did the opponent score as compared to their average game?

Sounds like you got it figured out, would be winning from here on out just need to hold teams under 50 and have one of your players go for 52 each night

No one has anything figured out, Im just saying if teams score 70 or better against Bracken then my money is on them.

Russell averaging 61 PPG not including the Bracken County win.

Bullitt East averaging 66 PPG not including the Bracken County win. Lost the next night to OCath, 49-48.

And I'm just saying when the scoring is more balanced your team tends to do better, pretty simple if you ask me,hard for kids to get up and play intense defense when there not included on the other end of the floor.

This is only true IMO if you have legit 2nd and 3rd scoring options. Does BC have those against good teams?

That's a question for MR.ALL BLUE that I'm sure he will answer . But I see a jones, engnes, rigg,Appleman, fisher all in there scoring column from there wins,

Could it be, too much clout is being put on the win over Campbell County.

Since your wanting me to call out a player I will, In the 5 wins Austin was 44-97 and the rest of the team was 91-192 and in the 7 losses Austin was 54-133 and the rest of the team was 88-214. So for the player you are trying to single out the shot attempts remained the same, sorry.

I'd say the answer to most all of this thread was posted earlier in the post below. Actually makes more sense than all of the over-analyzing being done.

Sounds like Russell had a good night and Bracken had a bad night and they happened to be playing each other. I would also venture to say Bracken was ready to go home too. Reading way to much into BOTH TEAMS with a this game.
