One thing I heard Jim Brown say in an interview with Anderson Cooper last night is he thinks too many people on welfare are using it as a way of life and not attempting to better themselves or get a job. He said that most welfare programs are set up for temporary assistance but aren't used that way.

I know eastern Kentucky can identify with his comments. There's a lot of people that wouldn't accept a job if they were paid double what they receive from entitlement programs. It's easier to do nothing, sleep late, and ramble around during the night than it is to worry about setting a clock and going to work in the morning.

The same reason Mountainref says Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton hate him. How come when he says it no one asks him why he would make such a statement? Unless folks agree with him.....

Chuck D, Mos Def, KRS-One if he is going the celebrity route. We trust them. If he truly is wanting to help out the black community then he needs to go to the true leaders of these communities such as pastors, teachers, school administrators, and community organizers. Trotting in Kanye, Jim Brown and Ray Lewis in and then hearing people say, "see, he isn't racist or see, he is trying to help the black community" insults my intelligence and is generally an insulting thing to say to any black person. The fact that people would think those three are a representation of the entire black community is insulting and also shows what our society thinks of black America.

All true, but some Obama has reached out too are not the type of people I think he should be reaching out to.

For the record I don't think Jesse and Al hate white people any more than Stephen Bannon hates black people.
