All State Baseball Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Coach Donahue resigned this morning. Who lands this job?
ATLCat Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I am not sure any region of KY has higher coaching turnover than that SEKY area Seems like almost every school has changed Head Coaches in the past 5 or 6 years now
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Any word on a reason why JB would be leaving his alma mater? He seemed to have the team moving in a great direction over the course of the last two seasons. Went from 2-9 ('13) and 5-6 ('14) to 9-3 ('15) and 7-4 ('16).

Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Here he is from his days playing QB at Harlan...
Harry Doyle Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I am not sure any region of KY has higher coaching turnover than that SEKY area Seems like almost every school has changed Head Coaches in the past 5 or 6 years now It's everywhere. More getting out than getting into it, too....I would hope we'd see it dip below 40 this year for the first time in some 6-7 years, but I don't think we will & even if we do...it will continue to pick back up. Not to get off subject, but some friends and I were talking the other day are near retirement age, but of our combined 40 years of teaching and coaching since 2005 at nine different schools...we could only come up with TWO former players that have since gone into teaching/coaching in general (and, one of those USE to coach baseball...doesn't anymore...so, only ONE teacher/football coach).
ChiefSmoke Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Coach Donahue has done a great job there. When Stephanie's aunt lived in Loyall, I would sneak over to watch a workout or practice. As to why he is hanging it up, it is tough to stay some where for such a long time and especially in your hometown. My guess is that he just thought it was time for a change... for him and the school. Good luck to both!
TribePride Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Rumor is JB will be coaching at the University of the Cumberlands.
Bandit29 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I hear Bracken's Coach Sizemore is in the mix.
gchs_uk9 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I hear Bracken's Coach Sizemore is in the mix. Does he have connections? I know Sizemore is a common mountain name and Bracken has played Harlan the last two seasons.
Bandit29 Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 He is from around there somewhere, if you're from one mountain, you're from them all.

Pi Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Hear a rumor this week about a major name for this job. Has anyone else? When are they interviewing?
