January 16, 20179 yr Author Another big time get for Fickell today as 4* safety RJ Potts chose the Bearcats over offers from Notre Dame and Nebraska, among other Big 10 offers. Potts is the son of former Colts FB Roosevelt Potts. Looks like several big time 2018 kids in Ohio are also talking about going to UC together, including top 25 nationally L'Christian Smith. UC gave him the interesting opportunity of playing both football and basketball as a scholarship player. UK offered him something similar but basketball would be as a walk on. If Potts gets any of his dads size he will end up a LB.

January 17, 20179 yr 4* WR Danny Davis is scheduled to visit UC next weekend. Visited West Va this past weekend. Sounds like the Bearcats might have a realistic shot with him with Fickell recruiting him personally. Ron Crook was listed as his lead recruiter from West Va and he is now the o line coach at UC. Read an article where his parents like UK because of proximity to home (Springfield, OH) but with UC getting involved, that could change.

January 17, 20179 yr I am amazed at what Luke Fickell has been able to accomplish in his first couple of weeks at UC. Very exciting time for the UC fan base.
January 17, 20179 yr This job sits in a gold mine of talent of which kids love to stay home. I'd say if everything goes how it's expected, they'll be in a P5 sooner than later. Of course, when UC has success, the HC tends to get out for a bigger job. Maybe a P5 label will cause coaches to stick around longer.

January 17, 20179 yr Former UK WR and Lawrence County High grad Gerad Parker has been hired as UC's RB coach. Parker was at Purdue last year.

Kyle Bolden of Colerain is visiting this week end...while he might not be a statement recruit from a ranking perspective (3*), he is definitely an important kid to try to keep home.
January 23, 20179 yr Kyle Bolden of Colerain committed to UC tonight...safe to assume that pipeline to one of the top programs in Ohio and the country has opened back up to UC. Hasn't been offered yet, but my guess is younger cousin Dan Bolden ends up at UC too in the '18 class. A lot of momentum with the top local kids right now. Big weekend next weekend to round out Luke's first class.
