Franklin County 40 Frankfort 20

Featured Replies

It looks like FCHS wore them at the end. Who was there for some insight?

Ammons threw for 275 yds and 2 TDs, and ran for 2 more.

FHS had 220 yds rushing, but only 3yds passing and 2 ints and 3 fumbles.

FCHS will have to play much better, if they are going to stand a chance against LexCath next week.

I expected a MUCH better showing from FHS in this game...On to next week...

You may need to check the stats. The news said Ammons threw for 440 yds.:flame:

FCHS had more depth than FHS.I think Walker and company have done an

excellent job in preparing these younger kids for varsity play. Some of the kids making contributions this year never set foot on the field last year!The7 on 7

in the summer helps develop chemistry. Also the conditioning bears out as the game and the season wears on.Good luck to both teams next week! Hope the Robinson kid is OK.:thumb:

You may be right. Those are the numbers they gave on the radio broadcast as I was driving home from the game.

FCHS played really sloppy in the first half, after being challenged at half time the stepped up big. Ammons threw for 440+ and the team had almost 600 yds offense they also ran all over the place most of the night. Robinson for FHS only had 43 yds. rushing and was not too happy with his line. The O-line for FC had a great second half picking up the blitz and many alignment Fhs gave them and giving Ammons plenty of time. Congrats to the flyers but you will have to sharpen up things to win next week.

Frankfort High is for real. Class A teams beware.

FCHS had way too many penalties and too many dropped passes. The receivers did have some good catches especially the Hicks brothers. Metcalf ran well but needs to take care of the ball ( two fumbles I think).

#10 is just a winner. He figures out what it will take and delivers.

FHS had alot of speed which should prepare FCHS for next week.

The O line for County gave Ammons all night all night long. The front line handled #7 for FHS with ease. He was not a factor.

#76 for County had his way in the trenches.

Again FHS is for real, alot of speed as well as size. Will do well in class A this year.

Yes I agree # 7 was a non- factor 2 years in a row he has 0 sacks and did not apply much pressure. However # 21 is a different story can be a great linebacker when he decides to.

The coaching staff at FHS has a lot to work on this week with another passing team coming up with Mason County, hopefully, they will work with #9 on how to keep up with his man or zone area, or change DB's. Turnovers have been a problem all year, that was evident last night . Glad to see a former FHS player down on the sideline teaching #7 how to use techniques that obviously has not been taught period. FHS offensive co-ordinator should look to FCHS for tips on how to start a passing game which would have opened up the running game. Glad to see that the FHS players did not have to do up-downs last night, but the coaching staff should have! Good Luck next week Panthers.

FCHS offensive line played well last night. IMO that was the difference in the game, hats off to Franklin County. Mr. Ammons is not only a good QB but is a great kid with the right attitude. I wish franklin County well through out there season.

As for Frankfort there will always be things each week win or lose to improve on weekly. This loss will serve as a vauble teaching lesson. Turnovers killed a bunch of drives. you can't give a good team field position.

Offensively Frankfort will recover. The most important thing they need to do is to learn to align up properly.

As for defensive technique being taught maybe someone should call coach Acklin and give some pointers. I am sure he will welcome your advise.

Everyone wants to win every game. But Frankforts main objective is to win a district Championship. The last time I check they never hand out a trophy for beating a cross town rival.

They do not...but that is a good idea for the three schools to create. Some type of trophy or something that the city champ can have for the year for bragging rights.

Franklin County earned the win last night. as I said in a previous post Kaelin has made a believer out of me. As coach bucket said he is a class person as well as a player. He puts the team on his back and wills them to win. I know he played hurt after early in the 1st quarter, but he stayed in and continued to lead his team. Something one of the FHS seniors needs to do,doesn't matter which one. They haven't had a true leader on the field since Myron Moore graduated. It never ceases to amaze me that when teams win it's how good the kids played, but when they loose it's how poorly they're coached. I believe number 9 who is a freshman was supposed to have help over the top both times he was beat deep. Not completely sure ,but pretty sure that was the defensive call that was made. Both teams played hard and county deserved the win, they played harder longer.

Ammons made me a believer after this game...He makes the receivers 10 times better... great kid, wish him the best.

#9 he's a freshmen linebacker... I don’t know why he was out on wide outs. But you can’t blame him or point any fingers FHS just could stop Ammons and company. Who ever was play SS should have had deep what happened to (nobody behind you)... Offensive coach did ok play calling...but if you have a Qb with speed... don’t try and make him a pocket passer... roll him out make him a double threat...

No matter what happened I think FHS played a good game second have injuries kept them from keeping up and slow em down on Defense.

I totally agree with Pigman not only was Myron a leader he did it by example.
