Hopefully people realize now that there was never a discussion in the committee room about leaving out Ohio State. The only debate they had was Washington/ Penn State/ Michigan.

Same could be said for Oklahoma, schedule Michigan State instead of Ohio State and they get in and Ohio State would be out.

 

I hear ya... I just think Committee is kinda sending a message non conference schedule is meaningless.. Didn't Baylor and or TCU get penalized for this a couple of years ago and committee specifically said 'weak non conference opponents" - My take is do away with conference championship weekend.. expand to 8 teams and seed - Have those teams play in lieu of conference championship weekend.. Then Get your final 4 for BCS bowls.. that way bowl tradition etc stays in tact.. Just my take how you could expand to 8 and not lose the bowl traditions.....

Having 3 Big Ten teams in the top six is great for the SEC. The next time it happens with the SEC nobody can whine about favoritism/bias/hype. If one conference has three of the top six it is because they earned it.

I hear your point, and mostly agree, but one season doesn't wipe away years of a perception that has been built for many years.

If the bolded is the case then they are also saying the conference schedule is meaningless, too. Especially head to head meetings.

I am not sure how much of a debate it really was. We all convinced ourselves there was a debate, but once Washington won with ease the discussion ended.

The funny part about it all is that when this committee setup was taking place, the B1G was in favor of making it a requirement to only allow conference champs into the Final Four because of the fear/perception that it would be dominated by SEC teams. That nearly came back to bite them.

Penn State probably should be in. In my opinion, Michigan is probably better than any team not named Alabama. But they choked at Iowa and got screwed at Ohio state. The Iowa game is the one that left them out in my opinion

I think you need to give up on the they got screwed at Ohio State thing. Jabrill Peppers admits they just didn't get it done, you probably should too.

Well if there was no debate between Washington and Penn State then the committee made their picks in 5 minutes for the top 4 and probably spent more time filling out the rest of the top 25.

I do... If Penn State had scheduled Ludlow instead of Pitt.. They would be in...

Or, and I know this will sound crazy, if Penn St had beat Pitt they would be in. Anyone with 2 losses has no gripe.
