All SEC fans, take note and save this post for future reference.

I think you're assuming the SEC is going to ever get back to what it was. But for the record if you are paying attention to my conversation with swamprat then you will see that I had no problem with Alabama playing in the championship under a similar scenario. So I don't see what the SEC has anything to do with it. The SEC had its hayday, my problem with the SEC was that their hayday ended way before people started noticing, but they were still recieving the benefit of the doubt because of it. They still do. Ole Miss got the benefit of the doubt for roughly 2/3 of the season and they were a very mediocre team. They were under .500 and still in the top 25. I have no problem with the top of the SEC still recieving respect, but the rest of the SEC has been mediocre at best for a few years. The SEC East has been beyond mediocre since Urban Meyer left, and the SEC West while we want to imagine that it was this great division has really been Bama and LSU this whole time with teams like Miss State and A&M getting off to hot starts and everyone praising them for it but then finishing in the middle of the pack because they weren't all that good to begin with.

You absolutely could change it, by letting a computer do the rankings.

FWIW the computer rankings for the BCS had the same exact rankings 1-9 as the committee except the computers had OSU and 2 and Clemson at 3. So really what would have changed?

ESPN strength of record went

Alabama 1

Ohio State 2

Clemson 3

Washington 4

 

I think the SOR has matched the playoff teams every year so far. Lets disband the committee and save everyone the drama and the lying on camera. ESpn can tell everyone what the SOR criteria are up front and we roll.

They stopped OSU on 4th down. Game was over there...except it wasn't. I have accepted it though. If they can't beat Iowa they dont deserve to be in anyways

 

Actually in my mind the Wolverines lost it on 3rd down. Had the play bracketed and the DE decided to get sucked down with the flow late in the play and opened up the door to the cutback that gave the Bucks 4th and short. In my eyes that was the final mistake that cost UM the game.
