December 2, 20169 yr Isn't there an old saying, know your friends well but know your enemies very well? Or something like that? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
December 2, 20169 yr Come on his only threats are the US, China and a unified Europe (which is weakening). Found a President with the same ego and demeanor. They will be the perfect match. Good for Russia bad for us, but not Trump Enterprises. What holdings does TE have in Russia?
December 2, 20169 yr Author What holdings does TE have in Russia? Word is that he has plenty of business interest in Russia and China but he won't let us see his taxes so it is merely speculation. I could be wrong but aren't his Make America Great Again hats made in China?
December 2, 20169 yr Author He is going to find himself on the business end of a -gun- I mean promise, if he chooses to go into Poland, which seemed to be his want to during the summer, since President Obama pulled the missile defense that we promised to Poland years ago. And now is the time to deliver that safety to our allied friends. 'Old Vlad did not want Trump to win, his war machines were poised at their border for a Hillary victory. So, I guess that's my gut feeling because there can be some fire breathing conservatives to stand up when an ally is threatened. No war( I hate war never has a winner) just taking care of our friends. Vlad didn't want Trump to win? Where did you hear this statement?
December 2, 20169 yr Word is that he has plenty of business interest in Russia and China but he won't let us see his taxes so it is merely speculation. I could be wrong but aren't his Make America Great Again hats made in China? Well it would probably be on his corporate taxes for Trump Enterprises...if there are any. I would venture to say every billionaire would have investments all over the world and not just in one country. Would it matter if he is invested in a chain of Russian Starbucks? I guess it would depend on what types of investments he may have, if any.
December 2, 20169 yr What holdings does TE have in Russia? He has no businesses in Russia, but has longed for a Trump Tower there. He stopped getting financing from American banks, but guess which banks did lend him $$, Russia. It would be just naive to think Russia isn't a key player in his business ventures. Really I could care less, but he is not clean in these endeavors.

December 2, 20169 yr That's my gut feeling also but I am a close minded fire breathing liberal waiting to criticize Donald as soon as he talks so I wanted to see what folks who like him have to say. I truly don't know if this is a good or bad thing for the US. Didn't President Obama want to work with Russia? Isn't he the one, that was caught on a hot mic, saying he could do more after he was re-elected? Good for Obama but not for Trump?
December 2, 20169 yr Would it really make people happy if Putin said he hated the U.S. and wanted to nuke us?
December 2, 20169 yr I couldn't give two whiffs worth of squirrel farts for what Putin says. What he says isn't worth the ink to print it. We know exactly what Putin wants: to continue consolidating his own power and expand Russia'a sphere of influence over the old soviet republics. What we don't know is Donald Trump's own reactions to all this because he was decidedly mute about foreign policy during the campaign. One of the current president's biggest foreign policy shortcomings was an unwillingness to really stand up against the expansion of Putin's brand of authoritarianism. In the end, we wait and see what Mr. Trump has in mind.
December 2, 20169 yr SBUX dosen't franchise. He'd have to start his own coffee chain or invest in, kabe, Dunkin Donuts or something. Thanks I didn't know that. When the one here failed quickly, I just figured it was a local franchisee that didn't know what they were doing. Maybe he owns a chain Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme in Russia then...:lol2:
December 2, 20169 yr Author Didn't President Obama want to work with Russia? Isn't he the one, that was caught on a hot mic, saying he could do more after he was re-elected? Good for Obama but not for Trump? I don't know. That's why I am asking. Did you miss the part in the post that you quoted where I said I don't know if this is good or bad for the US? Last I saw Obama and Putin didn't get along at all and that Putin can't stand Obama. I was thinking many BGP conservatives have been critical of Obama and how he has handled Russia but I have never been able to figure out if we should be in bed with Russia or not. Do you have an answer to my question or are you just going to play gotcha games on BGP all day? Let me know. I'm looking for an informed answer.
December 2, 20169 yr Author Would it really make people happy if Putin said he hated the U.S. and wanted to nuke us? Of course not but aren't people dissatisfied with how Obama has treated Russia and what are we looking for Trump to do differently? Is that not a fair question to ask?
December 2, 20169 yr My guess is this will not be a cozy relationship. Russia may like the divisiveness that this election has caused, but don't mistake that for the new President wanting to ride shirtless on a horseback.
