The KHSAA really needs to find a different venue if WKU can't hold their end of the bargain. It's a big deal for folks to plan ahead, then have things changed the week before the game.

Good point, 2C. @Wireman, I know you're a Danville guy. I'd bet you can buy them from the school this week, although I don't know what the price would be.

I'm sure this was a part of the bargain when they agreed to the current contract. WKU and KHSAA are both honoring the contract they agreed upon.

 

I would think the KHSAA would agree with you that a different venue should be a priority. However they were in a pickle last time as WKU was the only option. If the KHSAA had not signed the contract, then who knows what would have happened? In order for another option to be considered, then another venue has to step up and bid. The KHSAA should be working hard the next two years to talk it up with other venues and encourage them to submit bids.

I didn't realize it but you are right. Last year Belfry was the home team, wore their red jerseys, but sat on the west side of the field.

We don't have to like how the sched has been changed.

 

We can voice our displeasure as much as my little hand can type.

 

Again I dont like how times get changed when you are preparing in advance and get hotel rooms and transportation set up.

 

I hope no one shows up and the KHSAA takes notice.

 

I have seen a decline in attendance over the years for various reasons.

Who set size and surface requirements? I don't think I have ever heard that before that UK and EKU were excluded. Does anyone have a link to the "invitation to bid" form the KHSAA uses for state finals, that would be an interesting read.

You're right. They have the home side listed on the East side of the stadium and the visitors on the West, but then both says (Diddle side/Press box side) in parenthesis.

So basically because the original schedule was made tentatively and subject to change and folks took it as a schedule locked in stone and because it changed it is the KHSAA's fault?
