Sorry that is a cop out statement...there is NO excuse why they should playing these games at WKU knowing they could be changed...this is a lack of consideration on Julian Tackett's part to those who have to travel great distances to get to a game of a lifetime only it to be changed on them.

 

What devastating effect is this going to have on anyone? So what, a game starts at a different time? I've been lucky enough to be on the field for championship games at PJCS and at Western and I can tell you that the atmosphere is much better at Western. Move the games to UK and it will be like playing in front of an empty house.

 

Besides the KHSAA has a contract, would you propose they break it?

I call it how I see it...been around this game a long time...this is poor management on the part of Julian Tackett...not the first time he has made poor decisions like this. I will keep it at that.

You are negotiating the contract with WKU and you have this issue to deal with among the thousands of other issues involved. What do you to? Do you refuse to sign the contract because of this one issue when you have no backup plan and no other venue in the state of KY who even bothered to submit a bid?

Gees all this belly aching because a few things has to be changed. It is called LIFE. Come work with me at my job for 12 hours and when you walk out the door with me, you would probably say...a little inconvenience is not all that bad is it and thank the Good Lord we are alive and can be aggravated and also go watch some good football games. No facility that has been mentioned is perfect, but the finals at WKU have been great IMO. I do understand some of the frustration with logistics, but there are more important things in life.

For everyone complaining about the games I have a simple solution. Don't go.

The games are going to played. Period. Folks that really want to go will go and folks that can't go won't go. I'll be working 12 hour shifts all weekend so all you folks mad about your day of inconvenience because WKU has a pretty good college football program won't get any sympathy from me.

 

If you really really want to go then you'll be there.

Some of us are going to have to pay handsomely just to attend this game and buy our way out of shifts you (the KHSAA) capriciously change game times for because you can't stick to times and dates you published months ago. I hope WKU loses by 60.

Lemme tell you. I scheduled to be off Friday months ago, hoping JC would be in the state 4A finals. I work nights in the Emergency Department (on Dixie Highway, no less). You just up and move the game to a day when I have to work for no reason except your own poor planning. Now I am going to have to pay from my pocket someone to cover half a shift (if I am lucky) so I can go watch my beloved school try to win the Dream state title. Yeah, you take it for granted at Trinity. This would be the alpha and omega of life in Johnson County. Would change things forever. And that's my home. So. Feel free to shrug and say who cares. Me. And also several thousand Johnson Countians who got screwed last year with the late night Sunday game, and are getting screwed again this year because the KHSAA doesn't care as much about football as it does its precious little basketball tournament.

How much do state final tickets generally run?

From WKU ticket office, single game tickets are $10 for general admission, $13 for chair back or $18 for club level

 

All game packets are $60 for chair back or $90 for club level

 

Each school sells general admission tickets, they may be a little cheaper, not sure.

If Western is playing on Saturday and they are still playing two games Saturday why can't they play the Friday games as scheduled.

The bulk of Friday is reserved for ESPN set up at the field, and each of the college teams has a block of 3-4 hours to use the field for practice.
