How many punts? :idunno:

I watched the entire 2nd half and only saw 2 by SO, there were 6 or 7 total turnovers.

How many three pointers were made? lol. That's a lot of points for football.

If Pulaski gives up 55 to South Oldham, Bowling Green may score 100..

Could anyone imagine Keith Jackson calling that game?

Congrats Pulaski County on being so Consistent

If not for 4 turnovers, Pulaski might have scored 90 in this game.

Pulaski defense obviously came out very flat but played MUCH better in the 2nd half- gave up a late TD with 30 sec-- recovered the onside to put the game away

South Oldham had an impressive offense with a balanced attack- what a talent they have with Keaton Martin.

Jake Johnson was HUGE for Pulaski tonight- South Oldham D could not contain him.

I was at this game tonight. In my personal opinion if Jake Johnson does not win Mr Football it will be one of the greatest tragedies in Kentucky High School Football.

I feel like this is hyperbole. Walker Wood has done just as much for his team and has been every bit as pivotal for Lafayette. Jake Johnson is extremely deserving to win Mr. Football and I won't have any issues at all if he is named Mr. Football. I just think Walker Wood is just as deserving and I don't think it would be a tragedy if one of these two players beat out the the other for the award.

Damien Harris not winning is a bigger tragedy IMO.

How many state records does Wood have? Better yet how many has he shattered? Johnson has been to the Carpet not once, not twice, not three times but four years in a row. He has won one ring. The Wood kid will win because he's a U.K. Recruit and the Johnson kid is better than any receiver U.K. Has on their roster in my opinion. I stand by my comment it will be a tragedy if Johnson doesn't win.

If I had a Mr. Football Vote, I think Jake Johnson may have earned it by now.

Insane game to watch. Lots of fun....unless you're a defensive coordinator.

I just got back from calling the game....don't have my stats in front of me, but here's a few tidbits....

> Over 1,100 yards of offense (South 292 rushing, around 240 passing), PC over 600 yards offense.

> Jake Johnson set new PC records with 17 catches for over 290 yards....breaking his own record set earlier this year vs. Bourbon County of 15 catches for 240+ yards....

> South led 17-0 barely four minutes into the game, scoring the first three times they had the ball, aided by two first quarter PC turnovers.

> There were 7 turnovers total; 4 for PC and 3 for SO.

> Drew Zaubi of South threw three picks - but he also threw four TDs.

> Freshman fullback Keaton Martin for South Oldham finished with just over 200 yards rushing, and finished his freshman season well over 1,500 yards. If he even comes close to keeping this pace up, he will easily become the all-time leading rusher for South Oldham.

> South's 12 wins were the most in school history.

> sophomore QB Wiley Cain for Pulaski had plenty of time to throw all night. In the end, this was by far and away the key to the PC win. Against the South zone, the Pulaski receivers had plenty of time to get wide open.

> South led, 38-21, at the half, and returned the opening 2nd half kickoff inside the Pulaski 20, but a really silly penalty moved the ball back to about the 32 or so, and the Dragons ultimately failed to score on the possession.

> There were two punts - both by South in the second half.

> Pulaski County still trailed, 45-29, midway through the third quarter, but Jake Johnson then scored on three straight TDs - one via INT return, one via reception, and then a 14 yard run that pushed PC to a 48-45 lead. (missed PAT on first TD, failed 2 pt conversion on second, then PC went for one on third TD to account for 19-0 run). The 48-45 lead was PC's first of the game.

> South's kicker Cooper Cantrell kicked two FGs - the second tied it at 48.

Both teams will still be very good next year....most of the key contributors for both teams were underclassmen.

Game was a lot of fun to call.....many, many thanks to the kind folks in Somerset who were so incredibly hospitable to the Pegasus Sports crew including the John Hines, the head coach at PCHS, the folks at the ballpark, and the hometown radio crew who made sure we had everything we need. Would love to go back anytime to broadcast a game there.

(also kudos to Sonny's BBQ, where the Pegasus broadcast crew went before the game - another reason why I want to go back soon!)

Would LOVE to see Pulaski and South play more often, but realize that distance and travel costs probably will make that unlikely.

Good luck to the Maroons in the finals, and congratulations to coach Jamie Reed and the Dragons on an incredible, memorable season!

CM

I just want to repeat... Jake Johnson deserves to be Mr. Football
