Louisville was again the only team they brought up with having close wins. That is annoying, to say the least.

The thing with UofL is there resume isn't very good at all. They've only beaten only 2 FBS teams with a winning record. Also Ohio State lost on the road in an equally as hostile environment in Happy Valley. UofL case is that anyone with half a brain can clearly see that UofL is a top 4 team in the country. Top 3 imo and I wouldn't be upset if you flip flopped them and Ohio State and I'm a huge OSU homer so that should mean a lot coming from me. Haha There aren't stats to back up UofL being in the top 4, but all you have to do is watch them to understand how good they are.

 

Forgot that OSU played at Happy Valley. With that there isn't a legitimate argument for Louisville to be ranked over Ohio State. Louisville had one impressive game against a good opponent. They've seen two good teams all year maybe a third on Thursday. They may be better than OSU but they shouldn't be ranked above them IMO. With the way Louisville has played in a few games they'd likely have 2 or more losses with OSUs schedule.

Michigan blew one Saturday night but Iowa isn't the worst team in the world or something. They are going to end up 7-5 or 8-4 and in a bowl game.

The winners resume is getting WAY better how does beating a top 3 team not make your resume better? But Michigan winning is the only scenario I see for UofL.

Obviously, Clemson had it's "home cooking" streak ended by Pitt.

Another committee member is Jeff Bower, former head coach at Central Michigan and Herb Deromedi, also a former head coach at Central Michigan. Another committee member is Condoleeza Rice , former Sec of State.

I'm not sold they value conference titles. I think they will use it as a way to break ties so to speak. If they truly valued them tOSU wouldn't be in.

OSU's resume speaks for itself though if they knock off Michigan. Nobody has a better resume except Alabama and if OSU didn't have a 1 in the loss column it would be debatable who has the better resume. Wisconsin as a Big 10 champion has a better resume than UofL on paper despite having 1 more loss. UofL is way better than Wisconsin, but that's merely from eye test. There are a lot of analytical people in that room who will want numbers to back up what there eyes tell them. The only true "football guy" in the room is Barry Alvarez and while he is supposed to abstain from voting when it comes to Wisconsin, his voice carries a lot of weight.

I don't think they're fighting for the same spot though. I think OSU is solidly in no matter what if they win out. There is a spot with their name on it. I think it comes into play with PAC 12 Champ Washington, Big 10 Champ Wisconsin, and Louisville.

There's really only one available spot. Bama, winner of the Big 10 and Clemson (if they win out) are locks.

Ohio State struggled mightily with Northwestern. And vaunted Michigan just lost to a team that was 5-4 at the time. Louisville might have played close, but they didn't lose to Duke or Virginia.
