"He isn't my president."

Featured Replies

Is that a rational statement to make in regards to any POTUS by any US citizen?

Can someone actually successfully defend that statement as truth or is it effectively just a figure of speech?

I say same thing about Obama. I didnt vote for him.

When I see people making that statement, I automatically assume they don't have the intellectual capacity to form sound logical thoughts.

And you would be correct.

Kinda like a father saying "he's not my son".

I admit, that one got me.:lol2:

Agreed. I used to hear this one a lot during George W. Bush's presidency.

It's a way to try and personally absolve yourself of the actions of your government and it's complete foolishness.

I don't like Donald Trump. I don't think he's going to be good for this country in the long term. He's still the president.

Whoever is elected president should get the respect that the position holds whether people voted for them or not. I didn't vote for Trump but he will be my president because he was voted in by the majority of the people.

I didn't vote for George Bush the first term but did the second. He was my president and I didn't always agree with him but I still voted for him.

I say same thing about Obama. I didnt vote for him.

Then don't ever talk about being "American" or "patriotic."

Already seen 100 "Give Trump a chance" posts today, from the same people that wrote Obama off BEFORE he even won. #Merica

So when you say that, do you mean it literally as in "I don't recognize him to actually be my President", or do you mean it as a figure of speech to say you weren't in favor of him and didn't vote for Obama as President?

Seriously considering deactivating.

I, unfortunately, had to live the last 8 years with a President I really dislike. He has done very little that I support and I do not support him or respect many of his actions. That said, he is the President, I am a citizen and that makes him my President. I could say that he is not and wish that he was not, but I have lived with the reality. It is what it is, until it is not. January 20th cannot arrive soon enough.

No way. It is way too entertaining today. Hyperbole is at it's highest since Obama won in 2007.
