It's no more wasted than voting for any of the above. Someone exercising their rights is never wasted.

I guess, but the vote will not even be counted. The people on the list would have counted. IMO, this was strategic by Kasich. Had he voted for an actual candidate, it could have come back to haunt him in his bid for President in 2020.

Well, another option would have been to not vote at all. Let's face it. No one is coming out ahead in this election, regardless of how you cast your vote, or don't. But, as Americans, we should be encouraging each other to participate in the process, despite the fact that we may not agree.

It was a protest vote plain and simple. The fact that it will or won't be counted is the point. And I agree that he has to think about what the vote will mean if he tries to run again. That says more about the public than him.

I am not being critical of Kasich. He could have written in Spongebob Squarepants for all I care. My point is that the vote will not even be counted. If your vote will not be counted and tallied, did you really vote?

My vote in KY for HRC will be counted and still not matter. I don't really see much difference, to be honest.

Fair enough. The only difference I see is your vote will be in the final tally of popular vote. Kasich's vote will not.

Does a persons word not count for anything anymore. I thought He was old enough to know that you do what you say.

Kasich seems to me a good, honest man.

I would think Trump has done enough over the past year to disqualify himself even if you did sign a pledge.

It's like every other kind of pledge: foolishness. Sometimes new information comes to light or things can just reach a breaking point.

People change their minds. I don't see it as a flaw.

Precisely.

That political hack would have been POTUS if Republicans would have nominated him. Probably by a landslide.

As a Democrat I would have voted for him. He really impressed me in the Republican debate that I watched.

I thought he was a decent option as well.

The fact that so many liberals find Kasich to be an acceptable Republican nominee explains why he is not the Republican nominee.

Unlike other people on this site I vote for who I think is the best candidate regardless of party affiliation. I also don't put other people down because of who they vote for.

What explains the Republican nominee?
